The gaming magazine Games Master claims that Studio 343, the new developer of the Halo-series, is working on a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved.
The magazine also claims that 343 is using the same engine used in Halo: Reach will also be used in the development of the remake.
The game would come out on the 10 year anniversary of Halo: CE, which would be in November 2011. The year after that, they say the direct sequel to Halo 3 is coming out. Microsoft hasn't replied yet to these rumors.
However, Phil Spencer, vice president of Microsoft Game Studios, said that he would think about it, he wasn't sure if the consumer would really want a remake. And obviously they have a lot of work to do, but it's not impossible to put a remake in their portfolio. "If a remake of the game would really matter to the gaming community, it would probably be a good idea. But I haven't really put much though into it yet."
Remember that this is still a rumor, and you should not get your hopes up. It is unknown if the game, if it will ever be released, will be full-priced.
What do you think about this, and would you buy a remake of Halo: CE with improved graphics, greater level design and possibly a lot of new features?
