Halo: Sins of the Prophets is an upcoming mod for Stardock's award winning 4x RTS Sins of a Solar Empire. Players will be able to play as Earth's last best hope, the UNSC, or as the xenocidal Covenant, bent on the destruction of all mankind.

been following that mod for ages, looks great so far, sucks that the release date is to be determined, thats the worse thing about mods, most of the time they never see the light of day, but fingers crossed sins will.

hope your right like, only thing i don't like so far is the archer missile FX, the missiles and trails seem huge, takes away from the 'scale' of UNSC ships, which are like enormous!

Yea, I doubt it'll be released, which is a damn shame. Or, two months before release MS will stop them like they did with the C&C mod (forgot it's name).

yeah i remember the generals mod, looked so promising then blam! it was gone overnight. do the sins of the prophets guys have a forum? since i definately think the missile FX is far too big compared to the ships!

I agree, the missile FX seem too big. I mean, i know that the ships could fire huge salvos of archer missiles, it's just a little too much. But in any event, the mod seems awesome! really hope it's released, but unfortunately, the record leans towards no...sigh...

You mean HaloGen, the mod for C&C Generals.

It was a real shame that got cancelled. It looked much better than Halo Wars. Not being seriously watered down to fit an Xbox control scheme would have never hurt that mod, either.

Still, is Sins of Solar Empire the right game to mod? I mean, half of that game is about trade and diplomacy. You can even win without really going to war. Sins is a good game (if a bit complicated), don't get me wrong, but somehow I don't really think that stuff would really belong in a Halo RTS. Now I don't really know a whole lot about modding. Is it possible to alter fundamental gameplay aspects like that in a total conversion mod?

think a halo mod would be better suited to nexus: the jupiter incident or X3, something along those lines rather than sins, also star wars empire at war is a good platform for a potential halo mod as well, there are a couple about if im not mistaken!
