alright,i know a lot of glitches and use them all over halo 3 but are they really important? we need to focus more on whats there instead of what isnt sopposed to be there! Bungie created this virtual world for us and we need to appreciate whats there. Do we really need glitches?

the only one that really needs removing is the betrayal glitch on narrows, its too tempting sometimes

I play games for gameplay, not silly gimmicks

H3 MM warrior

Reach S7, 8 and 9 arena warrior.

H4 MM legend

There arent really any game breaking glitches in H3, especially now.

I do think that glitches are important to some people though, as many will attempt to find them, and in that way appeal to a greater audience. As long as they are patched in MM as soon as they are discovered im fine with them.

The narrows glitch actually works on any map that you can jump off of btw.

It actually works on every map that you can be killed by the guardians (im 90% sure on this). I know you definatly can on blackout, narrows, standoff and snowbound but they all have differences in difficulty.

OP - what "glitches" are we talking about here?

Not talking about guardians.
Its tag-betrayal ... and easiest on narrows.

Basically bump into a team member (or better still agro him into taking a single shot) ... and then jump.
The game attributes your death to the last player to cause damage .... and as it is a team mate it sees this as a betrayal.

Play boot option time ;)

I changed usernames to match my gamertag. My original account, wambo114, was created when I got xbox live. I'm a 2007 kid really!

Hell yeah!

In my honest opinion, glitches are a vital, essential part of a game.

Glitches give the player the powers of a modder. Just look at this one, the half-infected War Chieftain glitch, for instance. No other Halo lets you equip a enemy character with any weapon you want. This user tried it with Elites and Marines.

Furthermore, some of them were obviously intentional. The Separatist Phantom on The Covenant, for instance, after you deactivate the third tower. It's clear that Bungie wanted Arbiter to board it. So why didn't they make it indestructible?

Glitches also contribute to orchestrating combat scenarios. Just look at the four Arbiters glitch. The battle is essentially in your control. For example, you can go through that door that you bypassed anytime and trigger the Flood infection forms and Elite combat forms.

You can increase the number of Flood combat forms you fight after the cutscene.

You can even get rid of Arbiter after the cutscene to fight them alone by killing him, keeping one combat form alive and nearby, grenading him onto the Ark's activation panel platform, and teabagging him into nonexistence!

Another player describes the potential applications of the Arbiter clones glitch in his article.

Edit:

Of course I'm mainly talking about Campaign. Multiplayer glitches tend to be a pain in the ass.

Glitches aren't necessary, but they're definitely fun. And good glitches aren't something a developer can intentionally put into the game. Finding them on your own is the fun part.

Do you think Bungie really planned for this to be in the game?

Probably not.

But I'm pretty sure that Bungie found some of the glitches before their community did and chose not to eradicate the glitches.

Just look at the Elites. With a button combo (Y+LT), you (in custom games, forge, in Co-op) can throw grenades like Spec Ops Elites. Bungie didn't remove this (although this is not allowed in matchmaking so they wouldn't have to remove it).
