everyone seems to think its great. personally i think it is a terrible idea. dont get me wrong i love halo ce it was a classic, but so was star wars a new hope but you dont see a remake of that do you? this shows that 343 industries is lacking ideas of continuing with master chief, i know it is hard to make a sequel to H3 but they knew that when they bought the franchise, seriously 343 dont do it!

I dont really care, as long as they make a halo game i am fine with that. althought it would be nice to have a game that is not halo CE, but its not like i can do eny thing about it?

It's a great idea if done right but if they do it wrong things will get ugly.

I kind off agree. I would like to see some things in the original Halo with modern graphics, but I think I would prefer 343 to work on something new and different. I don't necessarily want a sequel to Halo 3 or anything to do with the Master Chief( I think Halo 3 had a pretty decent ending), but something new. The Halo Universe should big enough to accommodate that.

If it is a Halo remake, it'll be interesting to see what kind. There's people that say they will only buy it if they keep *everything* the same and just add MP over Live, there's people that just want that and updated graphics but the exact same gameplay, and there's people that want the game updated with all the features from Halo 2, 3, ODST and Reach.

you don't see Star Wars remakes because anyone who has ever touched a Star Wars movie already knows how to do a movie.

343I, on the other hand, is working in a completely different field with having never made a game before as a studio. They need a fallback to work with as referance; Halo CE: the remake is merely a testing ground for 343I's first true Halo game, which everyone believes is Halo 4.

Because if their first game were to suck, then now they have fallback to get the fanbase to give feedback on things they need to improve and don't need to improve.

It is a VERY logical step to do a remake imo.

Except for George Lucas. :P

But on to your main point: Yeah, 343 definitely needs to have a test of their abilities, but I don't think that it will be beneficial to them to do that by working with a 10 year old game, considered to be nearly perfect by some, that set the basis of their franchise.

No matter what they do with it, it won't be able to be judged fairly as an example of 343's talent, because so much of it won't be their original work. I think they're better off going in a completely different direction for their first game. A new style of gameplay, new characters, maybe even delivered in a new format (episodic XBLA Game maybe?). They ned to proove that they can make Halo. If all they try to do is recreate Bungie's Halo, they'll never be able to prove themselves as a unique developer.

um, ensemble studios.

did you ever once see the 343i label in the opening credits?

I agree with you, though if they make a remake,it would be fun if you could play as the Covenant.

I am Field Master Avu Med 'Telcam, Servant of the Abiding Truth, and I have many brothers.

A god who creates tools is still a god. It is not for us to impose qualifications upon the divine or presume to guess its intentions.

Yes. I want something new. If they add a Covenant side to it maybe? I'm not sure. To be honest I want Halo 4. None of this prequel and remake stuff we are getting.
