I won't bother mentioning that most of the internet will be dominated by the same "inappropriate content" that it is now.

Though actually I just did mention it. Oh well.

Without me, it's just "Aweso".

Wouldn't the "www" be obsolete when humanity expands beyond Earth?

I don't think there are any websites or email addresses in the books/games/all other canon.

There is a couple of military allocations (NAVSPECWEP/GROUPTHREE/NOBLE, or something like that), but no actual public websites or email addresses.

In all honesty, stop asking the same question, too. It could be counted as spam, and it makes you seem strict.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us...

The Internet dosen't exist in the future 'cause Bill Gates didn't invent it yet.

Best I could think of. :/

I personally think there won't be any ".com" or ".org"s is the 2600s. I think it would be more catgorized by the planet you live in. If it was an earth-based website, you'd have to be on earth to get to it right? So all the websites from earth are ".earth" telling everyone that you can't access the site unless you are in orbit or on earth.

There is no galaxy wide web in the 26th century. If there had been then the UNSC would have known what had happened at Harvest much sooner. Any interplanetary communication must be carried aboard a ship or shot using a Slipspace COM launcher, and there are only 3 known launchers (Earth, Reach and Onyx). To use one costs as much as a new Frigate.

The light speed communication used by the internet doesn't work when planets are many lightyears apart.

Sorry to ruin your fun.

I was saying that there could be a .earth or .reach but you'd have to be on the planet to access them. They wouldn't be able to actually get to the site if you weren't on the respective planet.

This would make sense, it's almost guaranteed that each planet would have some form of internet.
