This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Title for Reference.

So I was reading Contact Harvest again last night, and got to the point where Bryne and Johnson get into a cat fight in the barracks on Harvest.

Apart from some talk on how to make a bed, there is a part that interested me alot. On page 86, Bryne says '' They trained you to be a killer... They trained us both''.

Now, knowing the facts that Sgt. Bryne and Sgt. Johnson were both SpecOps unit leaders during TREBUTCHET, working together in operations, and knowing that Johnson was part of PROJECT ORION, it has to be obvious Bryne was part of ORION, too.

I'll add more info later to the thread, when I have more time, and am not in such a hurry.

So, what are your opinions on this? What do you belive? Is he a Spartan I or not?

Discuss.

don't think theres enough information to come to any concrete conclusion, he could be, but then he might not be, i guess its upto our own interpretation. i would guess yes though.

It's heavily implied, however, there is no proof. I choose to believe he was one though.

I see no evidence to suggest that he was a Spartan.

there is no evidence to suggest that noble six survived either, quite the opposite yet there are still countless threads about how he survived! just felt like pointing that out, i think the 'hint' is in the part where they are on about how they trained them both to be killers, im guessing by 'they' they were referring to ONI, agree its a subtle hint but its something.

There is no solid proof, but it's hinted at.

52,000 kills in Halo 2 and more legendary playthroughs in CE than you can imagine. I am truly a God.

Doubt it, though he was Irish.

My jokes, so I don't lose them (ignore this):
ZedFish's Opinion on Sgt. Foley.
ZedFish's Forerunner Rickroll.

It sounds like he's implying that they trained them both, but Johnson turned out better.

Perhaps he didn't cut the Orion mustard, got discharged from the program, and had to settle for regular Special Ops; while Johnson went on to successfully become an Orion soldier? THis would explain why Johnson's 'a killer', though both were trained.

Corn, Oil, and Wine... We need more wine...

There's a lot there, but if he wasn't in Orion he could just be saying that the military trained them, but Johnson is better, and he doesn't know why.
