Hi Im new and I think that there hould be ideas of new weapons for Halo.Me and my friend Nelson always want to replay levels in Halo but then it gets boring after a while they should make a practicing field so people can practice shooting and so you dont get bored. The favorite thing to do is to have a sniper rifle and shoot people in the head and see them drop in the ground and then stick a grenade at their head. I WISHED you could have a SMG sniper so you could shoot them with the smg when they get close also they should make more bulets for the sniper because sniping is what I always do

this is a suggestion thread for what you want on B.net not halo.
Anyway, a few more themes, and a few more avatars would be nice. ("

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

I'm glad there is no Karma system. I don't like the pressure of having to use it(and I would feel compelled to use it). I do like the Moderator FAQ. That will save alot of time in the Septagon. I think you should make it its own separate sticky. People might not know the stickie its in has been updated, and new users don't look at the stickies anyway.

Karma...What is karma?
Karma is being kind, and recieving kindness in return. There are probably many people who would see something like this as an opertunity to make the bungie forums fall to it's knees. However, as if to cancel that effect, there are those who would just like to go, " Hey I've got 71 points, you?"
" 21"

Then it would be left at that. No flamming, spamming, whatever. When people who work at companies see their forums, they are just too busy to look at every person to check if they are good. They probably check their friends list(if you are linked) and number of posts, locked forums posted in, that thing. With this "karma" thing, things would probably work out for the better, just some things would need to be changed.

Maybe there should be some kind of "aid button".
When pressed, a mod will look at the forum and see what is wrong soon as they are open. Either somebody being very bad, or somebody acting helpful and stuff. And if that happened, when somebody pressed the button, they would have to put a reason why they are, then the edit post button would be gone for that forum, so they can see it how it was. If there is no problem, that person will be in trouble and may be banned from forums or something. Course that would mean to prevent accidents, there would have to be a popup saying are you sure you want to contact a moderator to look at this thread" thing.

A smoothy maker would be awsome, besides that it would be good to get a notice when somone comments on you.

I'd like to see more group themes. They make groups more Individual.

A Fresh "Fresh Bnet Feedback Thread". This is anything but "fresh".

Actually, I would consider it pretty stale. :(

One among millions; just the nearest visible right now.

For Bungie.net,
A fresh, open template and new post system that far supercedes the old cluttered look,
and just a nice atmosphere that organizes the thousands of posts into a readable, visually pleasing format. That doesn't sound difficult, lol. I could care less about 'features.' I wear glasses, and cannot keep up with all the cluttered stuff.

Edit: Maybe this will be a simpler suggestion- Make the viewing space a little wider. I'm on a widescreen laptop and all the text in the entire page is clustered on the left side. I find that this happens on my desktop as well, and it has a regular monitor with basic settings.

Bungie,

Do you think it would be ok for a "Spam Thread" in one of the forums?

  • 09.23.2006 8:40 AM PDT

A witty signature.

Perhaps, say, an "instant chat" feature. That, or a link to an IRC room. Forums are just so slow paced to me sometimes. IRC is a great place to interact with others, and it only takes one mod to run - kickbanning doesn't require that much effort.

I think I'd say a link to an IRC room would be my vote.

Not sure where this goes, but I suppose I'll post here rather than start a new thread.

Whenever I click reply, at the top it says "Create a new topic", as opposed to "reply" or something similar.

Editing seems to produce the appropriate edit message, but replying always confuses me, and makes me think I'm accidentally creating a new thread...

I also would like to see the Karma system implemented, and I would especially like to see a forum where only members with a certain Karma level can go. I know this has already been said, but I do have something new to add here.

I have heard many people speak of a "7th Column Council", and it sounds cool, but wouldn't the establishment of something like that promote elitism?
So, why not integrate a 7th Column Council into the Karma system? Only members with very high Karma levels would be in this 7th Column Council, and Moderators would automatically be in, that way people could not complain about not being able to be a part of such a thing. Everyone has a chance, but in order to have the privilege to be in the 7th Column Council, you would truly have to earn it through repeated demonstrations of your "worthiness" :p

Thoughts?

Yes, if some sort of chat feature was implemented, it would drastically reduce the amount of spam posts in relevant threads. For instance, in The Flood forum, just about all I see now is the same crowd having conversations inside relevant threads, and burying intelligent posts in spam. Hopefully a chat feature would minimize that.

I'm not a big fan of that menu bar at the bottom. It's kind of annoying.

Hey, most people here do not know me, I am much more active in the groups. When It come to the official forums, I mainly hover, and read through the endless lists of posts people make. Anyway I will add my two cents.

We know a search feature is being begged for, and almost certainly going to be the next addition, so I wont bother asking for it.

1. I want custom avatars in general. Why not, just let everyone have their own avatar. And if people abuse it, ban them.

2. I want to see one of those things that keeps track of how many total posts you make, and adds a certain rank to it once you get to 100 or 30,000 posts; your total would be the same whether its in groups, or in the official forums. In other words it keeps track of total posts. That way we can separate the active members from the inactive. Its rather hard on group leaders, to recruit not knowing whether or not they are bringing an inactive member, or a 24/7 poster on board.

I believe that those two items would make excellent additions to b.net, and the community.

I've never seen a Karma system that works. Not one. If they take the route of only allowing a certain number of people to dish out Karma then you get the problem under coverage - and I doubt mods really want to spend their time worrying about handing out Karma. If you let everyone have a say in Karma distribution then you invariably get people exploiting it, so as to make the entire system meaningless.

I guess it just seems to me that a Karma system is a bit of a White Elephant.

Exactly, I agree; I have never seen a karma system that worked. It is either too corrupt or to neglected. When everyone is allowed to hand out karma, people make second accounts, and hand out loads to themselves. When only moderators can not everyone gets some. It is a bad system that would really only work in a small group of people, not in a forum the size of bungie.net.

I think there should be an option to change your Time Zone, and you could actually see the time in your perspective.

  • 10.03.2006 5:47 PM PDT

The better question is: What don't I want on Bungie.net?

If I were to narrow it down, I think I'd want a place on the fourms exclusively for fanfiction. I hate going through mountains of threads about "Playable Grunts" or "Should Cortana turn into a human and marry the Chief", just to read a fanfic.

Although some of them can get quite amusing or "out of hand" before a mod locks the thread...

*shudder*
