I'd like to see more themes and avatars. There must be dozens of avatars submitted by people who no longer even have accounts here.

The only other thing I'd like to see would be more random sightings of Disembodied Soul. The new members never had a chance to meet up with one hell of a character.

Not true. He posted that one time in the Underground. Remember?

Of course I remember. But the point I was trying to make was that he was more active in the old Bungie.net so all the members could get to know him. He posted maybe two or three times in the current state of Bungie.net, certainly not long enough for a new person to really understand him.

Well, I suppose that's right. I certainly don't understand him.

I'd like the spotlight to feature a little more. Something other than the Marty Army in there would be nice.Or just a way to search for groups of interest throughout Bungie.net

Bring back the Thread of Interest label for each forum?

Here's a bunch of great ideas I (with some help and feedback) came up with. I'm sure you'll agree that they are all well thought out and achievable. Take a look here. Some of the better ideas (in my opinion) is to put a tab link in the My Profile page to My Threads, which consists of links to all the threads the user has created. Also I like the idea that every five votes you get in a poll thread the thread gets bumped up to first page.

2B || !2B - Why don't you look Inside the Machine?

We need:

* Karma System (that could reward people with Jolt Cola and Glazed Doughnuts)
* Cooler features in the future: Like group of the week kind of thing (Marty's Army is old) and other features like that.

This is an idea I've been thinking about for a long time.

We need to basically have what I call a spam queue. There would be a spot on the site where we would put in the URL for a thread that is spam, and it would be added to a queue viewable by all moderators. Next to the "Welcom so-and-so" at the top of the screen would be something indicating if anything was in the queue. It would show up like a PM or the Online Friends indicator. The mod would click it, see who submitted it, click the link it creates, and take necessary action for the spam thread.

Did that make any sense at all?

That seems like a good idea to me, but I think the mods should be the ones to decide if it's good or not, since they'll be using it.

And I really want the 7th Column Council.

This isn't an Xbox site though... we don't even have an original Xbox forum.

 • 11.20.2005 3:32 PM PDT

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

There is no need for an Xbox 360 forum, all Xbox 360 topics can go in The Flood. This is a game developer's website, a forum specifically for topics about the Xbox 360 has no relevance.

We don't really need more Halo wallpapers, if there isn't one you like on B.Net you can always look on the internet for some. I don't understand what you mean by "funny movies", but if you mean that you want Bungie to make funny movies about stuff, there is also no need for that. There are more than enough humor websites on the internet, and if you want something Halo-related there's always Red vs Blue. Speaking of humor though, I would like to see a return of the Letters to the Webmaster. I don't think it's very important, but it would be nice.

Bungie can't make a halo 3 forum because they have not announced that it even exists yet. By creating a forum for it that would imply that they are affiliated with the idea of making halo 3, even though they are not ready to announce their next project. Every wondered why Bungie didn't just sticky a halo 3 ideas thread and tell everyone to post their ideas there? Same idea.

1. New Themes; the current ones are getting a bit boring.
2. Search Feature; I'm sure there's a better explaination somewhere else in this thread.
3. New Avatars; Why not?
4. Karma System; See #2.

1. A sent message "folder" for PMs. I send so many PMs to people that are breaking rules/posting in the incorrect forum and there are times I just get a reply like "Why is that not allowed." and I don't have the foggiest idea what I had sent.

2. Maybe have somebody do something with 7themes@bungie.com? I don't know what the status of the account is, but I know I've seen quite a few good themes and avatars on the forums. There are people that put a lot of time into those things, and it would be nice to have them recognized.

Anyway, those are probably the things I would really want.

Edit: For #1, and auto-quote would also work, but having a sent folder would be best in my opinion (since I can also see PMs I sent to bad doers that I give warnings to).

I'd also like to see a back to top button on every post. Sometimes it just takes so long scrolling up, and I don't feel like reaching for the keyboard after i've gotten nice n' snuggle on my mouse.

There is only one problem I foresee with that. Sometimes, bans are undeserved. I got my last one shortened by like 4 days. I was also once blacklisted by Frankie for two days. The reason he gave being: "underestimating my omnipotence and pettiness." See? That would increase me one level.

Also, I know a guy who was permabanned by mistake(it was undone). A certain moderator thought he was the cause of something, when he wasn't.

I'm certifiable.

I'm going to add my vote for "more Soul" content, if doable without him running rampant again.

Looking forward to the auto-Karma system, however that gets done. I'd like to see the good folks get some nifty forum-toys, and see the uses to which they'd put those toys. Really spice up the place.

An "sent box" for PMs would be a big time-saver... right now I'm trying to keep a log of my sent PMs in Notebook, and it's starting to bulge at the seams even with those PMs I forget to log. However, if it ends up notably slowing down the forums then I'd rather see fast forums than sent messages.

And another plea to have someone bog through the 7themes account for those avatar and theme ideas; again, more user content to build the community.

-- Steve has a nagging feeling he's forgetting a really good idea. Dangit.

Karma sounds cool, I like the way RvB runs theirs, so I assume the B.Net guys can do better.
("any idiot can fix something broken, it takes a true genius to fix something not broken")
This may seem like a stupid idea, but I was wondering if we could get a "body count" so to speak of people using B.Net at any given time, maybe so as to give us an idea of how loaded the server is before we do "complicated stuff"

Good point. But an otherwise good member would go from a 0 to a 1 and in 6 months wouldn't have even noticed a problem.

Well, I was thinking, and I figured out a simple way to rememdy that minor detail. Just have the Master Moderators me able to alter people's levels. That should fix it. I was originally thinking just Achronos, but that would make to much work for an already very busy man.
