Well, I've read most of the articles and they have just caused me to end up hoping that this game isn't TO new. There are a few things that I don't like...
1) In the OXM I believe it says that you can press different buttons to make the chief go different speeds. Why not just keep it as it is?
2) I don't like brutes! After becoming a die hard halo fan, I don't want there to be any unit that cane defeat an elite or "Rip a hunter to pieces" (First Strike)
3) The bursts of speed that the covenent ghost and banshee may be able to do. Those are going to make CTF games very frusterating if the enemy can get the falg and then sprint away.
4) Rumers about a main charector kickin' the bucket, possibly cortana or the chief. I just want everyone to know that if the chief dies it will ruin the game for me. I wont be able to replay the levels, it just wont be the same!

Well, there are more things I am afraid of, but that is all I could think of off the top of my head. Feel free to criticize and correct me if I am wrong.

1) i admit, keeping the same speeds would be cool. i remember playing GHost Recon and being SOOO frustrated at the movements - stopping and jerking around to strafe and run. SUCH bullcrap.
2) The books DO follow the game very well, but ARE a little off sometimes about certain things, like Plasma weapons fire and the actions of the enemy.
3) Remember, the June OXM told us they'll be DESTRUCTABLE, so it's all balanced and fair, just as Bungie has always been.
4)RUMORS ARE RUMORS. none of the plot, besides certain enemies in it and that it takes place on Earth the / a moon base, and another Halo construct, has been confirmed by Bungie. if it doesn't come from them, don't believe a WORD.

hang in there, my friend. We'll ALL know soon enough.

*tear* I will try.

But the point about the speed is that they would be hard to hit. Tough to hit a ghost going twice its speed.

Son just take it easy. Like we all say we'll be ok, just give it time it'll come. Bungie then will reveil all.

I doubt they'll screw it up, they know what they're doing. Plus, if you ever read any interviews with people who've played the game, they say that it's still good 'ol Halo. And I just go back to that original quote from way back on announcement of Halo 2. Something like "Halo 2 is a lot like Halo 1, only it's Halo 1 on fire, going 130 miles per hour through a hospital zone, being chased by helicopters and ninjas ... And, the ninjas are all on fire, too."

-straight from Jason Jones.

Yea, but I'm a little worried about the changes too man, but I know it's just my anxiety over its release. You know it will be badass deep down in that Halo crazed gut.

The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

You don't press different buttons to go different speed, except for sprinting (probably?). The Chief will just ramp up to top speed instead going form 0-30 in .1 seconds. Its all in using the analog stick you can walk in Halo, but there is no walking animation. Most what OXM described was all about the new animations for walking, running, and sprinting to make it look more natural.

I'm worried about it loosing its Halo flavor also...messing too much with the Halo formula makes me nervous about it..but deep down I know it'll be at least good, most probably the best game ever.

the controller layout is probly more customizable this time around so no worries

i live in constant fear of them making to man weapons cause halo is good with what its got and if i want way more ill go play timespliters or somthing....and also of them not focusing on the story or ruining it... but I have enough faith in bungie to go on with life

we will all see after the release

Change it! Halo wasn't that great in the first place, even though it's my favorite game. Weird. Anyways, just make sure it feels like Halo with a bunch of kick ass gameplay ideas added to the mix! Flaming ninjas, anyone?

I think the fact that Bungie has delayed (and dealayed and delayed and delayed) the release of Halo 2 should alleviate the concerns of my fellow Halo addicts (i AM addicted, no joke). I think the game will retain the same Halo flavor with some new additions.

Umm.... Bungie never delayed, those release dates were guesses from retailers. The only release date is this Fall.

Actually Microsoft gave release dates also, but I think that was also them hoping/guessing. I'm glad Bungie is able to say screw you we'll release the game when it's done.

In a way, I feel that Brutes will add a kick to the game, something to worry about besides Elites. I'm hoping that the controller setup will remain the same. It would be ashame to have to get into the groove of Halo 2, and then getting the urge to play Halo One and having to get used to the controls again... Over and over and over...

BTW.... Covenant multiplayer will be kick ass..
