seriously. Bungie. youve set the bar high. all other games i play i am disappointed. call of duty seems so stiff and scripted.

I love how my halo avatar moves. it nice because it lets the player play with their own style. I would love to see a zombie survival game made in the halo engine...

just sayin.

"Undoubtedly this is the heretic's doing!"

I disagree. It's a good engine but it's clearly not at the bar Bungie wanted it to be. It only allows so much to go on and the rest has to be compensated for. Examples include the MAC gun dust explosian in Tip of the Spear and how many characters/vehicles can be in a place at once.

I think Bungie wanted to do more but technical and console limitations forced them to narrow their goals down.

I think the Reach engine would have been better if there was more destroyable terrain. I know it would be a bit hard to do with important objects. (Such as the Pillar of Autmn, you don't want that to be destroyed if you shoot it with the MAC Cannon)

I think it would have been cooler if grenades made a sizeable blast divet in the ground and buildings could take damage. They cold maybe have added in bullet penetration.

Just my opinion, there's nothing wrong with the engine, but it could have so much more added in if it was unrestrained by the capabilities of xbox live and the 360 in general.

The graphics are fine, I wasn't talking about that. I was talking about what the engine can handle in terms of how many things happening at once and limitations.

Soon to be breaking news:

US Coast Guard prepares for massive rescue mission after Iranian fleet sinks off shore. Reports say a small thunderstorm caused most of the ships to simply...fall apart.

...

Cry Engine?

Given more time bunge could of optimized their engine better to run more efficient and look beter, but with what we got was epic so who cares

i guess you all have good points. i loved the destructable objects in bad company 2 but i love how your character moves in in Halo. the colizion detection feels solid. you know?

call of duty feels like im playing with gi joes or plastic soldiers.

I would love to design a game that feels as smooth as halo but with more current themes. not a future shooter.

there is nothing like grabbing a shotty ducking shooting, then jumping up and meleeing someone..you know? its like you can develop your own form of martial art/combat style. thas all im sayin.

I know exactly what you mean with the COD engine being so stiff.
I put something like this up awhile ago and I got flamed.
