I'm not crazy, I'm insane!

Just asking, if shields can disentegrate bullets which are metal and going faster than a human can swing a knife. How does a metal knife go through shields and puncture heavy ballistic armor?

hahaha good question. its kind of like blood coming out of the suit too cause, its airtight or something

It's made of adanantium.

A Spartan swings his knife so hard the shield does no effort to protect the victim, just like a Sniper Rifle headshot.
About the armor.. if I'm to mistaking, in the assassination animations the knife is always used on either the throat, head or the soft spot of the armor between thorax and abdomen.

The Elites use plasma blades, which melts through armor with ease.

First, shields don't disintegrate bullets, they just stop them. Second if a spartan's fist can penetrate shields, then why can't a knife.

either stainless steel or super hard ceramic material

On a related note, ******'s mom has really nice boobs, and it doesn't take much booze or encouragement to get her to let the puppies out of the pen...if you know what I mean...

If you look, it seems like a k bar knife.

I don't care. I really don't.

I think it was high carbon steel strengthened at a molecular level, nearly as though as diamond (which is the hardest naturally occuring substance on Earth).
A lot stronger than the material bullets are made of.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Well done.

I can see how certain areas of the body that are either poorly shielded or not shielded at all (such as the bottom of the feet explaination in TFoR, so that can go for certain areas as well. Some, though, like the knife through the head assassination, bewilder me.

It's the stopping power a Spartan's arm can carry (which can disable a shield with the butt of a rifle or fist) with a very small surface area to allow it to cut through and easily penetrate the plasma. Large Kinetic Energy+Small Surface Area=Little Resistance. Nothing wierd to it.

Shields might have a threshold at which they activate, as in a certain amount of force at a certain speed.

Doesnt explain why a normal melee attack activates them but...

They're always active, they just don't light up unless damaged.

Theyr'e not always active; look at how easily kat died in REACH.

PS: knives are made of solid awesomeness. especially Emile's one. which is made out of Emile awesomeness, rock, metal, and an otherwise undiscovered silver daimond. Type thing. ish.

Hmmm, you could also disregard all the above.

My jokes, so I don't lose them (ignore this):
ZedFish's Opinion on Sgt. Foley.
ZedFish's Forerunner Rickroll.

Probably just steel.

Difference being, instead of a bullet's momentum and relatively small mass, the knife has god-only-knows how much Spartan muscle, pure force behind it.

I'd pick it to be strong enough to smash right through shields like a Melee, difference being, it has the sharp point to drive it through the armour as well.
