Uh.
Dragon Age + Mass Effect.
Definitely two of the best series ever conceived.
Two huge blockbuster game series > one.
(both supported by a huge slew of dlc spread out over the past couple of years)
You know Bioware never intended ME to be that big right? It was originally supposed to just be something to hold fans over until a different game. Lord knows how it got so big. Bioware planned for ME to be a trilogy right from the start. Why would they want to make a trilogy for a game that was "just something to hold fans over"?
Also, the reason why it was so awesome was because Bioware knows how to craft a great story, universe, and characters, unlike Bungie.
Um...Are you serious? Have you not seen the HUGE EXPANSIVE universe of Halo?! Like seven Halo books have been written! How many mass effect books have been written? And by great characters you mean some dweeb that nobody cares about, an alien, and some slut?
Halo has a VERY small universe. We know major details about 4 different planets. Earth, Harvest, Onyx and Reach. Terrible, stock characters make up the majority of its books' cast.
The Halo Universe has the potential to be deep, but the Mass Effect Codex ALONE has more detail than the entire Halo series.
Mass Effect has great characters, which you've obviously never played properly. All the characters have more than one aspect to them, rather than "generic marine 1239874" in Halo.
There are dozens of planets in halo, and a 100,000+ year storyline. While the games don't have a ton of character depth, the books certainly elaborate on them. For example, the books changed captain Keyes from a generic spaceship captain into one of the most epic scifi characters ever.
