Subject: How Did Bungie Not Get Best Studio??

Do you think Bioware really deserved it? Shoot, if anyone else should've taken it I personally think it should be Rockstar San Diego. Bungie continually puts out blockbuster hits, has a huge following, and is great with its community.

Corn, Oil, and Wine... We need more wine...

Umm... 'Cause they're not the best?

My jokes, so I don't lose them (ignore this):
ZedFish's Opinion on Sgt. Foley.
ZedFish's Forerunner Rickroll.

'Cause BioWare got it?

/obvious

They did a good job. Commendations for that.

Uh.
Dragon Age + Mass Effect.
Definitely two of the best series ever conceived.
Two huge blockbuster game series > one.
(both supported by a huge slew of dlc spread out over the past couple of years)

Bioware talks to their fans a lot, go to the forums. You make a note about how cannon is wrong in a certain point and an employee will rectify it. Also, they've made the best game this year and have another franchise (dragon age) with serious potential.

You know Bioware never intended ME to be that big right? It was originally supposed to just be something to hold fans over until a different game. Lord knows how it got so big.

I don't see how that makes it any less amazing.
And what you said is actually a compliment, look at the amount of work that went into what you described as "something to hold over fans".
From the first game it was a completely new and fully formed unique universe.

They achieved interstellar flight and left Earth. The intelligent ones left after killing all of the stupid dinosaurs.

Bioware staff are constantly engadged with their community. Not just the occasional post from a Bungie employee every once a week

Giving lonely gamers the ability to romance aliens, that's why Mass Effect 2 was a poorly disguised dating sim.

What really surprised me is how Reach didn't get best score, even ODST got that award, and everyone knows Halo has the best music.

CoD is a good game, even if the Halo series are better in some aspects. Anyone who insults either is just bad in that game. Grow up.

No, the previous Halos might have had them, but not Reach.

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

Bioware planned for ME to be a trilogy right from the start. Why would they want to make a trilogy for a game that was "just something to hold fans over"?

Also, the reason why it was so awesome was because Bioware knows how to craft a great story, universe, and characters, unlike Bungie.

They did not win for the fact that Spike is extremely Opinionated like the other people posting in this thread.

If you ask me they should of won atleast one award, ask another guy and you might get a different response. It comes down to who ever Spike likes the most (which you can tell by there GoTY winner).

As if this really matters.

They lost because the VGA's are a joke. You're telling me that Reach doesn't have the best score? Are you serious spike?

Agreed! I also dont get how Neil Patrick Harris got best voice for freaking spiderman!! The VGAs are not official. They just try to give awards to as many different games as possible to bosst their ratings so they can make money.

Um...Are you serious? Have you not seen the HUGE EXPANSIVE universe of Halo?! Like seven Halo books have been written! How many mass effect books have been written? And by great characters you mean some dweeb that nobody cares about, an alien, and some slut?

I don't know, I don't think Bungie is as good with their community as people say they are. They sound incredibly arrogant in their weekly updates, and for the past few weeks, they appear to have been more interested in promoting the Noble map pack than fixing Reach's many problems.

Treyarch and Bioware are much better with their communities IMO.

Bioware deserved it. Bungie deserved it. Blizzard deserved it.

Only one of those could win, and I would have been happy with any of them.

At least it wasn't Rockstar.

Halo has a VERY small universe. We know major details about 4 different planets. Earth, Harvest, Onyx and Reach. Terrible, stock characters make up the majority of its books' cast.

The Halo Universe has the potential to be deep, but the Mass Effect Codex ALONE has more detail than the entire Halo series.

Mass Effect has great characters, which you've obviously never played properly. All the characters have more than one aspect to them, rather than "generic marine 1239874" in Halo.

Mr. Google said there are three books and four comics, which really is a lot in three years. Also, did you seriously just use the word dweeb?

Lol, All the mass effect backstory and universe is in the game itself, unlike Halo which is just a shoot'em up then read the story in the books kinda thing

There are dozens of planets in halo, and a 100,000+ year storyline. While the games don't have a ton of character depth, the books certainly elaborate on them. For example, the books changed captain Keyes from a generic spaceship captain into one of the most epic scifi characters ever.
