Enemy Weapon

Hunted

Gravesite

Are these considered "True canon"?

so Humanity is at peace with the Elites and everything is just fine and dandy?

  • 12.12.2010 11:55 AM PDT

Well i would say it would be more sort of a neutral relationship between tha elites and humans.

I think tha humans could not afford to fight tha elites due to tha numerical cost both financially and in terms of lives lost and so would being massive rebuilding of Human controlled space.

As for tha elites would probably assert their authority as top dog of the ex covenant races, most likely warring with tha brutes for the treachery they displayed in tha closing days of the Human - Covenant war.

What does 'tha' mean?

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

Well it's possible. We really don't know too much about what happens after the war ends, so it could be. I'd like to image the Museum of Humanity is real.

  • 12.12.2010 1:04 PM PDT

Signatures are for squares.

Those videos are the lowest tier of canon, "marketing"

But, they were in the Halo Encyclopedia, which means they are canon.

Message me if you want, I will try to get back as soon as possible.

See you on the forums and in the games.

They are considered one of the lowest forms of canon. It goes, games, books, then propaganda. So it's canon unless a game or book says otherwise.

wow. some of those are really touching. although a little far fetch'd.

I doubt Cheif would talk to any of the Marines about Duty or whatever. there simply wasn't time.

Agreed.

still the museum one was pretty good as they had replica weapons

  • 12.13.2010 10:40 AM PDT

I don't care. I really don't.

It's canon, but it's ONI propoganda. The Battle happened. The soldiers were real. The monument built was real. But the Chief was never there.

If you were ONI, would you want the public to know that the "last" Spartan-II died (as far as they knew) in extra-galactic space due to unlucky events while fighting a deadly parasite and using a giant megastructure to destroy it? You'd probably rather have him die in a local battle as a hero, without curiosity spiking and possibly dangerous public knowledge.

The soldiers say the Chief was there, but it was probably ONI bending the truth and told these soldiers to say he did certain things when it was probably just other marines that each did a different act rather than the Chief doing all of them. Also, the Chief was a hero, so they wanted him to still be considered a hero without anybody knowing what he did to really be considered such a hero.

  • 12.13.2010 10:41 AM PDT

"Question. Which Spartan is best?"
"That's a ridiculous question."
"False. Master Chief."
"Well, that's debatable. There are basically two schools of thought."
"Spartans shoot Sangheili. Spartans. Sangheili.....Battle Star Galactica."

Those were awesome.

So Humanity is at peace with the Elites? there wasn't another confrontation or anything?

  • 12.13.2010 1:39 PM PDT

The humans and the elites went on with their own things after the war, rebuilding and battling the remains of The Covenant, respectively. The friendship between the two species is symbolized when John and The Arbiter nod comradely at eachother after they crash land inside the Forward Unto Dawn, and the handshake between The Arbiter and Lord Hood.

I'm agent Nahman Jayden, eff-bee-eye.

Museum is canon (in the Reach legendary edition it talks about how the statue was going to be put in the Museum of Humanity)

Everybody loves Grunts!

They're probably canon. They don't seem to contradict too much (except for Mcs death) THe last one, where the soldier talks about the funeral ceremony could be referring to the last cutscene in Halo 3 where the fallen are honored.

The others are just superfluous information, like the museum one. (I thought that all the videos were cool though)

the Museum was the best one IMHO.

Basically the same thing, say the next book or game said that the Museum of Humanity did not exist, then the Museum would not exist. Get it? Basically until a higher canon overrides it this is canon.
