As said by the guy above me, your selfish bastard teammates will often boot you even though they know you weren't directly connected to their death. The thing with your controller happens to me too. I think I need a new one, but I'll just wait til I get a 360.

It happened to my controller too. Technically its impossible for your controller to get a virus, so I attributed it to my idiot friend.

for the controller: Something may be wrong with the cords, and the xbox cannot see that they are connected.
and as for getting booted: There is a bug that will sometimes allow you to boot people from the OTHER team, because a flaw in the games script makes the message pop up for them, and will let them boot you, while the script still reads it as a normal kill - it is a fairly rare glich, but it still happens, I have been able to boot people from the other team several times in matchmaking over my time playing Halo 2
