Subject: Need a few tips

Now I've started Two Betrayals, and I'm having trouble with the very first encounter... Bungie didn't wanna make it TOO easy, so they spawn us with a plasma pistol and a shotgun?! REALLY?! Anyways....

Pfft. Hide behind the glass and hit them with overcharges (or very carefully with pips if you want to conserve PP ammo, which is actually important for the next fight). The fight against the four sentinals is NOTHING compared to the hallway.

Sorry, by "very first encounter" I meant the hallway fight. That thing killed me so many times. The fight down to the Banshee wasn't too bad, and I haven't had much trouble... Except now I'm right under Generator 2 and I'm not looking forward to taking down a Wraith, 2 Banshees, a Shade, 2 Hunters, and what looks like tons of Elites with a Pistol and Shotgun. I'll swap the Shotgun out for a Plasma something (which I had intended to do for the previous area, but didn't need to, so forgot), but it won't help MUCH... How do I approach this?

a Pistol and Shotgun

You have a pistol, a shotgun, a small assortment of other small arms and, most importantly, somewhere from 0-3 ghosts and a warthog.

After dealing with the banshees, going to the right side can work. The hunters are pretty easy to take out with either a pistol or a warthog. The tricky part is that wraith. If you can take it out, the grunt/elite camp becomes hilariously vulnerable to an approach up that little hill it's sitting in.

Edit: Don't completely lose that shotgun, though; it will likely ease the fight around the second generator.

Two Betrayals wasn't too bad. I didn't like how it was just Assault on the Control Room reversed, but I also did; I knew the layout REALLY well. After the second generator battle, the rest of the level was really easy. The Flood mostly decimated the Covenant, and when they didn't, and it was me versus two Zealots, two Hunters, a handful of a Elites, invisible Minors, two Wraiths, and more than a handful of Jackals and Grunts, it was much easier than I thought it would be. First I went to that little incline with my SPNKrs, took out the Wraiths. I was out of their range, so they just sat there and took it. Then I pulled out my Sniper, and I handled the two Hunters. Easy. Used to remaining Sniper ammo to take out a Zealot, two Majors, and a handful of Minors. Then I went back, resupplied my SPNKr, and swapped the empty Sniper for the M6D. What happened next made me laugh like crazy.

There were still two Zealots, a handful of Majors, and a handful of Jackals and Grunts left. So I closed a bit of distance, and saw a Jackal facing away from me with an overcharge Plasma Pistol. I tried headshotting him, but because of the size of the reticule, I accidentally backshotted him. This caused him to release the trigger of his overcharge, accidentally hitting the Zealot he was in front of. Then when I tried headshotting him again (semi-successive shots; the second shot fired AFTER I saw what had happened, but before I processed it), the shot instead headshotted the Zealot. I couldn't believe my luck. Then the same thing happened a second time with the other Zealot (a little more deliberately, however). It was crazy. Two Betrayals: Completed.

Keyes is annoying me. At this point, I am sick of the constant influx of Infection forms preventing me from scoping or camping around a corner. I hope I'm out of these narrow halls and back in the Truth and Reconciliation soon...

Keyes was probably the least of my worries. The coolant part was the only annoying part because of what seemed like endless Flood and practical darkness. Once I got back onto the Truth and Reconciliation, smooth sailing. Spec Ops Covenant teams are slightly annoying, but still. Keyes completed

Then onto The Maw, which is a very easy level. I had a bit of trouble with the Sentinels but a Plasma anything will take those down. I do have one specific question about this level, though: Who's Dustin Echoes?

The Maw completed. X)

Cortana would have said "dust and echoes", but Dustin Echoes was still alive, chilling out on one of the ring segments. The poor guy never made it off.

I must say, I'm surpried at how many people actually do hear "Dustin" instead of "dust and." It's always been completely clear to me.

It's always been clear to me too; I was joking/hinting that I finished the level before actually saying it. I do know it's dust and echoes, "Dustin Echoes" is actually a long-running joke between me and one of my friends, when we first played through CE together. I know it's not just "our" joke, and it's actually semi-popular, but I have never mistaken what Cortana said myself, for the record.

EDIT: Also, so this is clear; this was not my first CE run. I've played through the game more times than I can count. This is simply the first time I've thought to try it on Legendary (where strategies are necessary, unlike Heroic and down, hence my childlike wonder at their existence).
