Every time you step foot into a human environment you can find trash on the ground yet there's trash cans everywhere but when you go to a covenant vessel there is nothing to be found anywhere on the ground yet there are no trash cans. They must eat their garbage...

The human environments are all cities that have been invaded. This makes for a huge mob of people trying to get out, and things get messy.

The covenant vessels are all military ships and are kept clean. Remember that the POA was clean. The covenant are also known for tough discipline.

no, we only see the important areas of covenent environments, and these are kept clean. I bet it gets messy in the lower decks of covy ships, like in the jackal and grunt quarters.

Yeah, the mold problem was horrible. There was mold everywhere, and some of it tried to attack me.

Cairo was horribly trashy before the first wave got there and the Pillar of Autumn was messy in areas too.
