But really, it gives them a huge advantage over foes, and if it makes it fair, they're usually seen with little to no shields throughout the games, so when you do find them they aren't too hard to take out.

What game are you talking about?

OT: Humans have a camouflaging ability more or less. So it would be fair for Elites to have them also.

They even condemn it themselves (Especially when they saw Spartans use it in Headhunters), and yet use it when it suits them. It is hypocrisy and a lack of Integrity.

The concept of Sangheili honour is on its death bed.

In Reach, you can be shooting at an elite for an hour if its on Legendary.

Metal breakfast.

I guess the more "honorable" elites would be the standard infantry ones. Stealth and specialist classes would be more concerned with completing the mission than honor.

I'm only talking about Spec Ops.

Message me if you want, I will try to get back as soon as possible.

See you on the forums and in the games.

I think the accomplishment of the mission awards more honor than the means by which the mission is done. Therefore, if the mission needs stealth, they will use stealth to further their cause. Just because they are idealistic and over-zealous does not mean they aren't intelligent, when given a tactical advantage they will seize it.

They have a advantage of killing there foe but they have been easy to see and taken down through all the halos. In halo 1 and halo wars you can see there blue sword. In Halo 2 and 3 you saw there outlines. And in reach when they move you see they become a little visible. They use it but not completely invisable so it fair and to me they can fool grunts but not spartans.

Note that the Sangheili race is not like The Flood; a horde of individuals sharing one mind, one set of view points etc. Like the humans, Elites have different viewpoints on things, and like people already have said; some prefer victory over honor.

I think the Elites who despise things like active camouflage and use of vehicles in battle are solely the elder ones and the Zealots. Correct me if I'm wrong, but not until the war with the humans and the conflict with the Heretics in Halo 2 was stealth techniques actually neccessary to achieve victory in certain battles. The conflicts they had earlier (Grunts, Lekgolo, Drones, etc) didn't require such technologies, since they were superior enough to beat them without using said technologies.

The shipmaster of the cruiser Incorruptible, Tano 'Inananree, tried to purposedly let The Flood into the ship and infect everyone including himself possibly based on his rather extreme zealotry. Another Elite on the ship betrayed him with a Needler and ended his madness, with the rest of the crew on his side.

This incident shows that the Elites are different from eachother, and have different values and views on this Sangheili code of conduct. Some prefer victory, some prefer solely honor, even if it means oblivion and utter annihilation.

The Elites have insane shields on Legendary. It is virtually impossible to kill one by just firing at it with regular weapons..

The first thing I did when I start fighting the campaign in legendary alone, was: grab a plasma pistol as soon as possible and hold tight a DMR or one of those Needler rifles, with that I took several Elite ultras with out wasting too much ammo and survive.

Well if you cant see them then they can spy on you and stuff. So they can tell other elites and the humans will be :( when all their soldiers/ships get blown up..

It makes sense; that they all share different views.

It just seems though that when something is cool; everyone likes to believe that all Elites think it, but when something is not cool; they are compartmentalised by it.

Active Camouflage is really only the tip of the iceberg anyway I think.

oblivion and utter annihilation.

Did they truly believe that Pre-Halo 3 though? Existential oblivion has a funny way of changing a persons outlook on life.

says the Alien -blam!- heel that invented active camo...

Funny thing is, that whilst this was happening there was a group of them standing watching with active camouflage on. I think that scene is saying something about the Sangheili...

Spurkis made a good point though, that they do not all think the same way. Although it kind of makes honour pointless in the end anyway, because everyone would have different interpretations of it. So does it even exist in this context?

One would think that if they are willing to compare their own culture to another in terms of honour, then it would be expected that they have at least some absolute code to which they all adhere to first. Otherwise, they have as much business criticising their own clans (each other) as much as any other race. If they do not, then it is hypocrisy or ignorance in generalising a race when their own is far from perfect with respect to what they would like to believe.

Sanghelli killed plenty of defenseless civilians too, and that's not honorable.
So what should stop them from cloaking themselves from armed enemies?
