"Find where the liar hides, so that I may place my boot between his gums!" - Rtas 'Vadum

Mercy I think. I get the impression from Contact Harvest that if the other 2 were not there he would have rolled with what Mendicant Bias was saying. I do not think he was as much a schemer as the other 2.

Truth by far.

I prefer pre-Halo 3 Truth, he seemed more calm and in control, I know there was the whole, 'we're almost at the end!' but still...

Oh hey there

I dunno man he did eventually go along with the plan. Maybe not for the power reasons that Regret did but he did go along with it. I assume because the Covenant was more important than the religion to him, which is weird seeing as he was a high ranking religious figure as one of the few people who could interact with Mendicant.

Spartans Never Die-there just missing in action..

best prophet is a dead one =)

i like truth

I liked Regret because out of all of the prophets he was willing to command from the front-lines. I still don't see why Miranda (who screws up everything) decided to kill him instead of capture him like she originally planned.

Mine is definatly Regret. Just an all round fascinating an interesting character.

As for Mercy i do think he was more or less the no man's land between truth and regret and just got pushed to the back as the other two sparred for dominance. I think without him Truth would either have Regret taken care of - OR - In the Cole Protocol Regret after either 1 - Paranoia 2 - Frustration at being kept on a leash probably wouldve gotten rid of Truth.

I mean in Halo 2 when you are in the underwater pod you read the incripted message and Truth more or less tells Regret that Mercy saved his ass.

Truths voice change in Halo 3 while i didnt like it at first if you place his change in voice from calm, collected and charismatic in Halo 2 to a throaty, coarse, an practically foaming at the mouth in Halo 3, in context i understood it much better.

Think about it, the past 25 years keeping the lid on this secret grappling with the genocide of the humans and when you are almost at the home stretch, have everything unravel by one seemingly unstoppable man.

He would need a serious neck massage to relieve stress..

Mercy, because he's the only one I can picture as saying, "Get off my lawn, you damn kids!"

"Were it so easy..." -Thel Vadame.

I'm gunna say Truth- from Halo 2. I just like his voice more. Mercy is annoying and I hate Regret's crown. lol

that put this picture in my mind: two grunts ( halo 2s versoin, there cuter) are playing on a lawn. Then merccy run out screaming. the grunts then start running away while mercy chases them with a newspaper

My favourite Prophet would have to be Regret, especially after Halo Wars, which fleshed him out a little more. It would've been interesting to see how he would've reacted when Truth announced the Brute takeover, considering that Regret held a bit of respect for the Elites after dealing in business with them.

On the subject of Truth's character/voice change, I thought that it was somewhat necessary. In Halo 2 Truth was the schemer, the man pulling the strings behind the scenes. For me the Halo 2 Truth didn't feel like the main enemy. Halo 3 brought on a much more commanding Truth, one who actually had to lead, instead of sitting in the background, and letting Regret and Mercy do all of his work.

Regret, because he was that bad-ass to go to Earth with a small fleet. Either that or he was just dumb.

Et Eärello Endorenna utúlien.
Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar.
tenn' Ambar-metta!

Truth, he is evil but classy.

Truth before Halo 3 was amazing. One of the best video-game villains in my opinion. The way he so deftly spun lies (Noble Mercy stands by my side, etc) to keep the Covenant fooled even near the end was just chilling.

Then Halo 3 screwed his character up and made him a generic evil guy.

Way to destroy one of your few good characters, Bungie. The Gravemind was pretty poor in Halo 3 too, as he was just a cliche parasite lord.

Truth, he is so evil, sinister and didn't care who died unless it halted him from going to the "Great Journey"

  • 12.15.2010 10:03 AM PDT

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

Mercy. It seemed to me he was the only one that really wanted The Covenant to be what it stood for, unlike Regret and Truth who were fighting for power. Mercy seemed to just be the middle man.

We are determined that before the sun sets on this terrible struggle our flag will be recognized throughout the world as a symbol of freedom on the one hand and of overwhelming force on the other.

Regret, he saw that the Elites were the best of the military, so he chose them for his Legions and to command his Fleets.

Despite what you see in "The Heratic"'s opening cutscene in H2, he was close to Thel' Vadamee, giving him ships, troops and gear to be trusted with, he would have surely protested the Changing of The Guard
