BTW i just love watching storms. Just the awesome display of the power of Mother Nature sends shivers down my spine. It's kind of interesting when you think about it, our highest buildings, our mightiest battleships, our most powerful weapons, CAN'T compete with the elements, all can be defeated by MOther Nature. Even though i like watching storms and thinking about their power, I'm NOT stupid enough to go outside in one just to see it better.

I have that same ability. I also have this one where I can sense a big storm coming. It's probably because I'm so scared of them.

Are you scared of the noise that the thunder produces or the thought of what the winds and such could do?

I only fear for my electronics, and unplug them, and hope that the power doesn't get knocked out.

Why? Theyre just clouds releasing the water they have retained and uh...... I forgot how lightning is formed. Point is, it's nothing to be afraid of. Unless youre golfing in a storm. Then your screwed.

Lightning is formed by static in the air. It collect then grounds to whatever it can in various forms.

And I find storms relaxing...

Get a generator and plug you electronics into a power strip that has a Surge protector in it. We have both and belive me it's worth it to have the generator.

We blew surge protectors out with a lot less voltage than your typical lightning bolt in my electronics class.

Devil is Double is Deuce and Joker always trumps Deuce.

Anyone ever played The Library or 343 Guilty Spark in the dark during a storm?

If you haven't don't .

Really? What was that like? Someone when I was in 8th grade accidentally squirted HCl (Hydro Chloric Acid) in the electrical outlets in one of the 7th grade science labs. It caused all the outlets to arc and spark and made everyone in the class jump. It was funny. One of my friends told me about it so i wasn't actually there but it sounded funny.

This is directed at ajenteks BTW. Oh yeah and we have a main surge protector that covers all the outlets in the house and i have the one on my PC.

Take a foil gum-wrapper, fold it, shape it into a fork, and stick it into an electrical outlet. It gives a couple of good sparks.

The surge protecters were similar. Now what was cool was busting flourescent lights and CRTs.

That sounds even better than my story. Was it an accident, joke, or part of the lesson?

This was all stuff that needed to be replaced by taxpayer money.

Once a tornado hit right near out house. It tore off a barn roof and threw it on to our tree. It was funny after it was over.

  • 08.19.2004 8:37 PM PDT

yeah after it was over.but during the whole thing you were probably cowering under the bed. not hissing anymore are you?!
