Subject: Which Halo Game Has The Hardest Campaign?

Halo 2's campaign was by far the most difficult. Halo CE's campaign was the most confusing. Halo 3's campaign was the easiest. Halo 3 ODST had the most boring campaign, and Halo: Reach was middle of the road on all fronts. Just my opinion BTW.

With my friend, we couldn't pass Halo CE on legendary (7 yrs old)
Now, when Halo 2 came out, It was hard on legendary and for me the hardest game is Halo 2

Halo Reach comes in second.

I had the exact same experience as you the first time I played through the Reach campaign on Legendary. Did you get stuck anywhere for a brief bit or did you just blaze your way through without any trouble?

I think I got stuck on the final part of PoA where you have to go through all the Elites before the canon. Other than that not really.

Yeah, the room with the 3 Zealots, the Field Marshal, and the Engineer in the very back was pretty difficult. I got gunned down by the Zealots 4 times before beating it. It's a difficult encounter, but not anything too difficult on Legendary (I've beaten it on Legendary with the Thunderstorm Skull on as well).

Yes, I AM just that awesome.

I voted for Halo CE because I don't like levels where you go lone wolf for most of the mission, and Halo CE had the most of those levels totaling at about 7 (wait a minute)!

Halo 2. I never could get past the part where you have to kill the heretic leader. It seemed like the holograms were invincible.

Has anyone noticed that in Halo: Reach on Legendary it's damn near impossible to stick an Elite, but the Brutes in Halo 3 are ridiculously easy to stick on Legendary?

Not to mention that fact that it takes 2 plasma grenades to kill an Elite Ultra, but it only takes 1 to kill a Brute as high as a Captain Ultra.

I found Halo 3 Legendary hardest. I took days to complete some missions and hours to reach some checkpoints, The Ark was probably hardest. CE and 2 were easy, I barely died, the AI just weren't up to scratch. Reach was difficult, but it didn't have those super-hard sections of Halo 3.

Note that Halo 3 was the first FPS I played, and the first game I'd played apart from Pokemon.

Here's my opinion.

Halo CE
Halo 2
Halo Reach
Halo 3 ODST
Halo 3

And if Halo Wars is included that was the hardest.

  • 12.23.2010 1:17 AM PDT

Legendary Halo: CE was brutal.
The only reason legendary Halo 2 was even tricky was because of the ridiculous jackal one hit kill snipers.

At this point the opinion is overwhelmingly that Halo 2 has the most difficult Legendary campaign, while Combat Evolved is 39 percentage points behind in a distant second. Reach is only 8 percentage points behind Combat Evolved and in third place while Halo 3 and ODST are tied for dead last with only 4 percent of the vote combined!

What is everyone's opinion on why Halo 3 and ODST were so easy on Legendary?

Legendary CE.

I only did it a few months ago, despite owning the game for years.

Halo 2 was a breeze. Though I'll never forget the beginning of Gravemind. It takes about 12 minutes of waves before you get your first checkpoint. Harsh...

Then again, that game was harsh in general. Jackal Snipers, and Brutes with shotguns. ARGH.

I cheated on Regret, or was it Delta Halo? Picked up the skull that gave you camo as the Chief, got a checkpoint whilst it was activated and well, the magic happens. Naughty stuff.

I take it back. Halo 2 was not a breeze. :P

Halo 2 on Legendary

It was so damn hard, it scarred me for life.

*sees sniper Jackel. Rolls in fetal position.*

What spectagon are you in?

I haven't played Halo:CE all the way through, so out of 2,3 and reach it would have to be Halo 2.

  • 01.30.2011 4:05 PM PDT

404 error please try again later.

Why are people saying Halo 2. I couldn`t beat Halo 1 on Legendary all I could do was all on heroic. Pillar of Autumn,343, and the Maw. However I didn`t try Halo 2 but I have a feeling Halo 1 is harder.

OP here.

I was doing some messing around today in Halo: Reach and found the following about the number of headshots you need to kill Elites with a DMR:

Major (orange ones): 10
Ultra (white ones): 13
General (yellow ones): 15

So how does this compare to using the BR against Elites in Halo 2 on Legendary?

Those H2 elites will kill you in a heartbeat, almost literally, especially if pared with G-nade throwing grunts. In Reach, they dodge and generally don't charge you if you stay far enough away.

The best defense is a good one.

halo 2 was hardest. reach easiest.

Halo 2 without a doubt. But frustrating hard, not balanced-challenging hard. Jackal Snipers in Halo 2 are the single most frustrating Legendary moment in the Halo franchise.

Huh. I found Reach to be the hardest, but I haven't beaten H2 on Legendary in years. I think it's time for another run.

  • 01.30.2011 8:54 PM PDT

Calculus calms my troubled mind

Well Halo 2 is the only game I haven't played so I would have to say Reach has the hardest campaign out of the others.

I have been on Bungie.net for quite a while. I just made this profile because I wanted to change my B.net username.

Halo Wars

AFK: Away from Kontroller. Don't do it or you'll get the living crap smacked out of you by the Banhammer. If you disagree with any of this, you are just bad at Mortal Kombat.

Without a shadow of doubt, Halo 2 on Legendary was the most difficult of the Halos. In fact.....it's the only Halo (besides Wars) that i haven't completed on Legendary. Jackal Snipers and Invisible Elites with Swords be damned.
