I was watching Goldeneye earlier and noticed the tank 007 derails the train with has the number 343 on it, this also starts a fire and I was wonder if this is where bungie got the idea for 343 Guilty Spark?

It isn't our shiznit anymore.

Well, 343 is 7^3. That would imo be the best reason.

It's becuase 7x7x7 is 343.

7x7x7x7 is 2401, as in 2401 Penitent Tangent

Well the 343 bit is 7 cubed ofc like the previous posts state. Maybe Guilty Spark is just a random name?

It could be and I guess we'll never know for sure unless bungie comes flat out and says what exactly inspired it, I just find it to be a major coincidence as you have 007 driving a tank with the number 343 on it and the game for N64 was still quite famous around the time halo ce was being developed and it could be that the people of bungie at the time were inspired by the movie & game.

Ehh... Bungie pretty much HAS come out and said it. They, self-admittedly, use sevens and numbers related to 7 EVERYWHERE in their games. If you just go around in the Halo trilogy and look for sevens in the little things, it's absolutely shocking how often the number comes up.
