If you didn't Play Halo: CE or Halo 2 MP, your opinion about Halo means nada.

CE + H2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> H3+Reach+H4

CE has the best campaign w/o question

So freakin agree its so crappy i dont realy like halo 2 but i find this game much more worse

  • 03.24.2011 12:49 PM PDT

Half of the time I'm dead serious.
The other half not so much.

It's not fair to attack a game that was revolutionary at the time many years later...of course you will see the flaws compared to sequels and newer games, but it was amazing when it came out. If you were even there when it happened.

CE's sandbox is absolutely lacking as most of the guns don't help you.
That's incorrect. Every weapon in Halo CE was effective against any enemy whereas in Reach and Halo 3, only certain weapons are effective.

The first paragraph is just telling us that you suck at navigation and following insturctions.

The second, just shows that you suck at using the motion tracker.

Third, you are clearly exaggerating. Also, I think they can reach out further than everyone else because of the long tentacle things at the ends of their arms.

Fourth, you just generally suck.

I know that there are faults in the Halo Campaign, but these were not any of them. You basically just told us all that you suck at Halo 1 and can't accept it.

Halo 2 for Life!

It does now sorta since I played halo 2 but the story is still one of the best all time, even if the campaign is worse than halo 2 and the MP as well lol.

  • 03.26.2011 12:54 AM PDT

What the blargh!?

I thought the campaign was brilliant for an old game

  • 03.26.2011 4:00 PM PDT

I'm a pretty good sniper.

Every Halo that came out we all think "Wow what great graphics" Halo 1 had awesome graphics and game-play (for it's time). But when it got to Halo 3 I thought the graphics could not get any better... then came Reach.

I have the opinion that 1 has overall the best story (even though going through the looong maps can get a bit boring).
But even if you don't agree that it is the best story I think EVERYONE will agree it was a LOT better story than ODST.

JESUS IS MY MASTER CHIEF!
When jumping feet first into the battle, remember to grab your gun!
One shot and they're dead, miss and you best be running.
Shooting five elites in a row is easy, but make sure you hear "Killing Spree."
Wake me when you need me, but I might blow your darn head off if you do at four in the morning!

I agree JESUS IS MY MASTER CHIEF

Really? I've had the complete opposite experiences. Maybe it's because I didn't have online until I got a 360, but that's beside the point. I found Halo 2's campaign excessively monotonous compared to CE. My multiplayer opinion is in your thread.

I completely and utterly disagree with absolutely everything that you have written. But don't worry, I respect your right to be wrong.

You don't kick a man when they're down, so don't teabag me when I'm dead!

You follow the arrows on Assault on the Control Room, and go the opposite way, and ignore them, on Two Betrayals...

Or is it the other way around?

I am an orange mist amongst a sea of blue, so my flames may stand out and represent all those who trully believe in this great sacriment of Bungie history, let my story be told as the only legendary still standing even after I fall Just as my comrades did so graciously to fight for the true loyal.
If you have legendary, would you stand by my side and go forth into a sea blue and demise as my brothers fighting for those who are trully loyal to Bungie?

This may be a bit late but, you do understand that this game was released in 2000 was it? and that the standards for graphics and scenery has changed dramatically over the years?

I can't tell if OP is trolling or not. Suppose I'll reply anyways. He's probably starving anyway.

Too many times I find myself wandering around an endless construct of tunnels and hallways with no indication as to where I'm supposed to go. Everything looks the same and far too many areas are just copied and pasted from previous sections in the campaign.
That's because of the time frame they had to build the game. It started as an RTS before the Millenium, for the Macintosh. Then they made a deal *cough*bribe*cough* with Microsoft to build it for the X-Box release. As for getting lost, aside from 343 Guilty Spark, it's hard to do that. Just go where there aren't any bodies. On Assault of the Control Room and Two Betrayals, there are arrows on the floors.

And the motion tracker sucks too. I'm a veteran Halo playerI call bull-blam!-. What games do you own, and have played? What Campaigns have you beaten, Solo, on what difficulty?
and I look at my motion tracker constantly but in this game too many times I find that even when I watch my motion tracker enemies still find a way behind me.That's probably because the AI is tactically smarter than you are. If they don't move, surprise, they don't show up! It's a motion tracker, not a radar. Forgetting about them doesn't make the bad aliens go away.

And the melee distance of the flood is TOO FAR. I see flood well over ten feet away still able to melee me. I got good at dodging flood attacks in 3 but this game is just broken in this department. Is this because you're trying to beat down the Flood? Good luck with that. They're literally built out of spongecake, so melee doesn't do a whole lot if it isn't an Energy Sword. Now, let's take a look, shall we? Do you see those growths where their left hand should be? Those are whiplike tentacles. They are for whipping. Whips generally have a decent range. That explains why they can hit you without you being able to hit them. Solution: don't charge at Flood mobs.

The only way I can get through this game is to BABY. STEP. THE. WHOLE. WAY. That is not fun. I hate games that force you to baby. step. the. entire. campaign. or. else. you. will. die. as. soon. as. you. step. out. of. the. designed. path. What, are you playing on Legendary using only the Assault Rifle or something? The key to this game is that you need to think about a fight before you start it. Unlike the rest of the games in the series, you can't just charge in on Easy or Normal and steamroll everything. You have to be tactical about it.

But I know all of you will say DUDE YOU SUCK!Tactically, yes, you do, if you have to bay step the whole way through.
YOU'RE NOT A TRUE HALO FAN UNLESS YOU FIND NO FAULT AT ALL IN THE ORIGINAL GAME!That's stupid.
THE ORIGINAL IS PERRRRRRRFECT!No. Not at all.
THE SEQUELS SUCK EVEN THOUGH WE KEEP PLAYING THEM DURRRRRRRRRR!I agree, the sequels do suck. Halo 2 was monotonous Campaign and number-based multiplayer. Halo 3 and Reach are inconsistent beyond belief and you are guaranteed to lose a 2 on 1 or against a vehicle. I only play Reach because Halo PC gets boring playing it 10 hours a week, and I want Inclement Weather before I quit Reach altogether.

^ that
also the only thing i hated was the flood with rocket launchers, always ssurprised me with that one :|

Speaking of chuckles, let's all lol at IonicPaul, who makes friends with bugs to make up for his lack of human contact.

The only level I got lost on in my first playthrough (when I was nine) was Guilty Spark, and that's because I was supposed to. I've never had a problem with finding the right way before.

Also, I feel that Halo 1 was pretty perfect on Legendary. The only other Halo game I feel that did as well in terms of difficulty was Reach. Basically: Think things through and you'll get through okay. Charge in blindly, and you'll only make it if you're very good or very lucky (see: Halo: Reach's Exodus). I beat POA without dying, and only died a few times on each other mission.

I was spoiled with the Halo 1 motion tracker. I first played it on my Mac, and Gearbox/MacSoft had apparently patched it to be as crisp as the Halo 3 motion tracker. So I was a bit annoyed by the dim motion tracker when I went back and played it on Xbox, but it was no real problem. The motion tracker was never my crutch in campaign.
