Just curious I guess... I got my start into Halo kind of late (year after 3 came out). Obviously consistent shot and timing power-ups, but what else? I'll admit, I'm stuck at 42 in LW and I can't get farther anywhere else because of derankers and new accounts. It seems like I should be able to get to 45, but I kind of choke when it counts. It's something that will haunt me for the rest of my life.

Deutschland uber alles!

50s are usually better than the rest, thats why they where able to get a 50 in the first place. Match a real 50 against a Brig or a Colonel and they will usually come out on top. Unless they bought it or where boosted then there probably just average noobs.

EDIT: And getting a 45 isnt that big of a deal its just status. I was stuck on 41 for months but found the motivation to play ranked non stop until I finally got it. Now I cant play ranked seriously anymore because theres nothing left to play for.

The line drawn is between 49 and 50. Dont search alone, play with one other. Go in theater after a game and see how the other players are doing whatever they did to beat you.

I'm better than any legit 49. It's pretty much this:

1-45 are all the same.
46-48 are better than all them.
49 is better than everyone below them.
50 is better than anyone below them.

It's all about learning as you go.

Your stating the obvious, that every rank is better then the one below it. 1-45s are not the same though.

Anyone who cannot get a 45 is terrible, hence, everyone from 1-45 is the same. Terrible.

I know some of it has to do with just playing more games and doing it more consistently... college makes me play in spurts. Though I am more interested in HOW the line is drawn, obviously more specific than "You're terrible if you're not a 50."

How much of it is being able to predict what the others are doing? I feel like when I'm getting somewhat owned, I lose control of the pacing and start rushing more... which is probably what they're trying for. How does one "control" the pace of the game?

I can say the same about those who cant get a 50, being terrible. So in reality 1-49s are the same...terrible.

You could say that, and sound like a retard.

Why is it retarded to say that those that cant reach the top of the ranking bracket in H3 is bad? Legit 50 vs any other rank below him is bad. End of story.

45 is easy to get. 50 is not so easy.

Really the line is drawn between 50 and other ranks by how they play. It is possible to get a 50 by being very aggresive but those who do so must be much much better than the person they are rushing. They should be a high enough calibur to take on 2 people at once. The other disticntion would be the smart players. The ones that know what to do in every situation and know where to camp and when. Generally these 2 types of players are attracted to each other because they complement each other well. The greatest distinction however is the level of teamwork. IDGAF who im against if I have a friend that I play with a decent amount we will out play the other team, through superior teamwork. Even if I may not be the slayer that someone else is my team will always out smart/out play the other one.

But you're 100% right. While RAW skill and competitive mindset take a player far, teamwork trumps all in H3. Also, what you said about combining two playstyles to make a great team, that's also 100% correct.

I'm going to use Jimmy and I as an example.

He is extremely smart, and while has amazing individual skill, he is not a very good team player. And before you say, "but he IS" or something like that, he has admitted many times that he lacks team work and usually plays for himself.

Me, on the other hand, I play for my team. Every single game, I will help my team mate out, even if it means me dying. I'd rather me die, than me and my team mate die. Obviously I don't purposely die, but I still prioritize helping my team mates over getting myself kills.

I have 24,656 assists for 4,668 games. This means: I average 5.28 assists p/game. When you think about it, that's not bad over 4,668 games.

When Jimmy and I play TS, we run the game. He will slay his balls off, and I will help our team out the whole game. This also makes us a good Doubles team, but we both hate doubles, so we don't play it.

lol yeah I love playing with Jimmy because I can go full support mode. He is a crazy good slayer, so I can sit back get a shot or two on someone and know that he can clean that guy up and wreck another kid at the same time. We played 11 games and the only reason we lost 1 was because we had a deranker on our team

Posted by: meagsIZbeastYeah, we were playing tonight. I was outslaying him in a few games.

Here and ALMOST here. He pulled off 2 quick kills and got 1 up on me >_<.

Oh, and this game pissed me off a lot.

This is true

not all 50s are good, but all good players are 50s. This is harsh but true, disagree if you want but it doesnt really matter
