Subject: 50-50 Tie = Loss?

Yesterday, on the heels of some nostalgia, I decided to play Halo 3.

This game, we tied 50-50. The game link shows 1st place.

The score was 49-49, and our random teammate (possibly deranking) was just constantly rushing to the tune of 21 deaths. In true hero fashion, I was able to trade kills at 49-49, making the score 50-50.

The game history shows 2nd place.

So, was this a 'win' or a 'loss'? Why?

Discuss.

Was Mowmentum host? Just out of curiosity.

And, IDK why it shows you second? I guess just like all other ties?

I went outside today. The graphics were AMAZING. The gameplay WASN"T.

Maybe I should cry for help
Maybe I should kill myself
Blame it on my ADD baby

Red team gets win over blue team.

I can't remember who the host was. I just know it wasn't mine.

Does that have an effect on the win/loss determination of a tie? Or is it team color? Or some invisible factor like Trueskill, win percentage, number of wins, etc.

Just curious.

I've played a lot of Halo 3 and this is the first time I've ever seen something like this.

From my knowledge, the blue team is expected to lose, and the red team is expected to win.

Therefore, if you tie and you are Blue, it's a good thing for you. If you tie and you are red, it's a bad thing. That's how it works generally, I guess it's the same for a tie. I believe that it runs the same way, but the gain/loss in trueskill/sigma is less than a pure win/loss.

Seeing as you were Blue Team, you probably were counted as a win, even though it says 2nd. None of this is fact, but I'm just going on how it's been in the 2500+ games of TS I've played, or the 15,000+ MM games I've played.

I'm out.

If you tie 50-50, 25-25, or 100-100 in Slayer (winning score), red wins or in some cases you get a tie.

I play Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST and many other games. G.T.: CON3Z

Not to sound stupid, but watch an episode of The Halo 3 Mythbusters and they prove that in the result of a tie the Red Team always wins no matter what.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

This. Ties go to Red team.

In the game history, Ties always go to the Red Team over the Blue Team. Both teams get the EXP and whatnot for winning though.

Red team is expected to win.
Blue team is expected to lose.

If there is a tie:

Red team will derank (maybe not a whole level, but they will derank).
Blue team will rank up (same as above).

We got your 50 off of two ties in a row.
One game red team.
One game blue team.

Jarrod pulled host both games. Even though his host is horrible.
