Haha. Apparently there's a crapload of undereducated children in the U.S. It seems about 50% of them participate in these forums too.

For clarification for all you underpriveledged types, you should know what a word means before you use it! And if you don't know, DON'T -blam!- argue about it's meaning!

OK kids, ready for today's lesson? (btw, I'm sorry for you few out there who are smart enough to know this already.)

Cyborg is a compound word derived from cybernetics and organism.

Any organism that is aided by technology can be considered a "cyborg."
In its usual context, a cyborg is a human who has the aid of implants or external devices.

Therefore, technically speaking, someone who relies on the use of a wheelchair qualifies as a cyborg. They rely on the external device to move.
Also, in a less technical sense, someone who has a pacemaker or prosthetic limb is a cyborg. In their case, they have pieces of technology implanted or attached to them.
Note, "cyborg" is not a synonym for "robot."

Therefore, if you are one of those people who are arguing about whether the MC is a cyborg OR a human, you're totally -blam!- ignorant. HE'S BOTH!

Thank you for your time. Take your inevitable flames, roll them up, and shove 'em.

True, but as an American, I am most qualified to dis other Americans.
Not to say that stupid people don't exist everywhere, but I've experienced the local variety.

Sorry, I can't resist... :)

Since the MC does not technically "rely" on his suit, doesn't that mean he isn't a cyborg but rather just a (physically augmented) human wearing MJOLNIR armor? Does he need it to save the world? Sure...but then, I also need my car to get to work :).

But I do agree with your point...don't throw words around if you don't know what they mean.

One word Waylander... Implants.

which technically means the rest of the UNSC forces are also cyborgs...

some info...

[quote]Each SPARTAN has a molecular fiber network within his brain, an upgrade to the standard "Command Neural Interface" (issued to all UNSC troops). This network translates electrochemical signals to digital code and routes them through an interface connection at the rear of the skull. His thoughts could now command the armor's movement and weapons, and input from the onboard sensors could come directly to his mind. The synthesis of machine and mind is so fast that it is almost impossible to chart—reaction time is more than five times faster than of an unaugmented human.
