I love the new look of these boards but due to these forum's immense popularity it is nearly impossible to easily surf this board due to the constant addition of new posts. Not that this is a bad thing by any means but it would be easier to browse the forums if they were broken down into subcategories. As it stands now, if I want to look for posts on multiplayer tactics, I have to look through posts on Halo 3 storyline ideas, what race is the MC, etc.

So how about it (both to site browsers and site developers)? How about some subcategories to make our Halo forum browsing easier? :)

Here is a list of possible subcategories:

Campaign
Multiplayer
Tricks and Stunts
Halo Universe

Just some ideas :).

I truly wish these forums were like the Xbox forums. That is the best set up. My favorite feature there would solve this board's problem. Simply have a button that keeps up with the most recent posts you have replied to. In the Xbox forums, it shows the 25 most recent threads you have replied to. I strongly suggest that be the way to handle this situation.

EDIT: Anyway, I'm posting this idea in a better place for this discussion. The Septagon

cheers,
Twisted Chains

Great idea! Much better than making new forums, I think.

I think the underground should be split into 4 sub-categories. Halo, Halo 2, Multiplay, and Off-topic. These sub-categories could be listed under the Underground header on the forum right sidebar.

When you click the underground header link it would show you all the posts from all the subcategories. Also the new topic screen could have a drop menu, in which the user could select which subcategory would best suit the topic.

bah

I think we just need a spam pit. A lot of people would go there instead of the Underground, so not only would that put the off-topic posts in their own place, but it would also draw the off-topic lovin' people to another area.

Those 4 subcategories sound good...anything to divide the posts up a bit for easier browsing :).

The Underground is "anything and everything Bungie related", and The Maw is Halo PC. So make a completely new forum and put these two as sub-divisions. Only, when adding The Underground, make it Bungie games only.

So then you have "The Game Forum" (insert better name) which is video games. "The Septagon" which covers improvements/suggestions. "The Gallery" which covers zainy pictures an' stuff. And then create a brand new forum, as The Rip Saw said, and make it spam/off topic stuff only and call it "The Pit" or "The Spam Pit".

Well, don't make it say"off topic",cause no one will go to it thinking their post is on topic.Make it like "Free Talk"or something.
