I find the idea of DBZ-style "holding-back" in a war situation, even in a sci-fi universe, to be kinda lame, and, TBH, silly. Sure it works in some anime's to build suspense and "coolness" of a character, but in a strategical military battle, or really anywhere outside of anime, it's ridiculous. "Get mad?"
I can just see it now...
"One last fight, demon. You will die and we shall reopen the silver path."
"Die?" "Didn't you know?"
"The secret final Spartan attack! I will show you my true power! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Completely not the point, I know. But these "what-if" scenarios are so over done and completely uninteresting that we are all better off discussing something else, no?
