PLus the music would always kick in at the prefect times, making a already amazing moment better.

Nay, even those very much have their own character. If anything, presenting the familiar with differences allows the character of the levels to come out even more.

Don't get me wrong, I love Halo CE, but some of those levels seemed like the previous ones with flood added.

I loved all of them. Halo: CE had some epicly huge battles for its time. Halo 2 introduced a lot of new gameplay mechanics which were awesome, and Halo 3 had some of the best vehicle battles in my opinion. My only gripe about reach was that it just didn't feel as huge as the previous Halos... And lets not even get started on those scarabs that can't be killed.

Our statements aren't contradictory beyond the fact that I like those levels while you seem not to.

The lighting differences and the completely rebuilt combat game those levels VERY different flavors IMO. AotCR and TB may use the same base terrain, but the point is juxtaposition and it's beautiful. Going along in chaos back through the same terrain of the daytime attack has an interesting effect, and it's a type of effect that games that don't reuse terrain for the sake of not reusing it can never capture.

You make a good point, and in that case it is pretty well done. The one time that I couldn't stand the reuse was when you had to play through "Truth and Reconciliation" again in "Keyes". It just seemed so unnecessary.

Apart from that, I can't argue with you.

"I'd have to say Lockout was the worst"

I'm pretty sure that's heresy, and that it conflicts with the "Code of Manliness" - page 792, section E subsection D paragraph 3.2. I suggest you relay that statement.

gameplay ---halo CE/Reach

I love them all...

ODST: Mombasa Streets made it amazing, other than that I would have to say Halo 3.

Halo 2, the music was awesome and Master Chief gave the Covenant back their bomb and we say High Charity. The perfect mix of soothing and metal music. <3

Halo 2 had the best campaign. Halo CE had a nice confined story which could have existed in its own little bubble; Halo 2 made the series truly epic.
