smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

Vote and post why. But not 343 Guilty Spark, this is for heroes, not evil psycho robots.

For me, its a tie between Johnson, 6, and Kat.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Defenantly Kat.

The music made it even better.

Wow... just wow.

Johnson was killed by a floating lightbulb, not to mention his dialogue was pretty darn cheesy.

Kat's death had a lot of drama to it. New Alexandria is falling around Nble Team, they're sprinting towards a fallout bunker whilst there's hair-raising music playing in the background building up tension.

Then it's all over in seconds, Kat has fallen and Noble Team drag her body into the bunker with the closing shot showing her foot twitch before she lies still. The last we see of her is her body in Carter's arms as they wait for the Falcon to pick them up, again with pretty divine music playing.

johnson was cheesy period! more or less everything that came out of his computer generated mouth was as mature as cheddar! only reason, kat was bleeding annoying, she seemed arrogant, seemed to lack situational awareness and in the end had a terrible, sucker punch death, the rest of the guys did a fine job in that cutscene, the music was epic, but the actual death of kat did nothing to me emotionally, where-as johnson who had been there through the ages so to speak with his ballsy, cheesy attitude actually grew on you..!

It's weird, Kat definitely had the saddest, because you couldn't mistake her getting shot through her brains all of a sudden.

As for Jorge and Six, I didn't feel like sad at all, because they both went with a bang and the most bad-ass way a Spartan could go, and at the same time left me wondering what the hell happened to them?

  • 12.18.2010 4:58 PM PDT

i think the whole of noble team, except kat went out in a very dignified and spartan-esque way, carter had a great exit as well, doing what was needed to get the job done and thats all spartans believe in, so hoorah to noble team (barring kat who just got shot!)..!

I actually prefer Kat to Johnson. He's too much of the generic archetype of a Sergeant, he's badass but that's about it. Kat was actually an interesting character, her flaws are what gives her interesting development which the rest of Noble Team (albeit Jorge) are not subject to.

Kat's death showed us that not every Spartan can go out with a bang, it shows that death can happen at any time and there's nothing you can do about it. That's why it was pulled off so brilliantly.

Keyes, he was turned into flood for christ sake then we had to stick our hands through the back of his head to get the codes.

  • 12.18.2010 6:51 PM PDT

Johnson or Captain Keyes because we knew nothing about Noble Team beyond the few days we saw them in Reach; they were husks of characters with no back-story, just random Spartans who died.

  • 12.18.2010 6:58 PM PDT

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

Kat's was surprising, Johnson's was emotional, Jorge's and Carter's were sacrificial, Noble 6's was heroic, Emile's was fighting until your last breath...and Keyes' was all of the above.

  • 12.18.2010 6:59 PM PDT

I voted for Jorge because not only did he die in a Slipspace explosion (though being a canon nut it annoys me to call it that), he thought he'd just saved the whole of Reach. Now i dont know about you, but that would be an awesome way to kick the bucket.

  • 12.18.2010 6:59 PM PDT

Tie between Jorge and Johnson. Keyes' death wasn't that big of a deal in the game, but it was pretty sad in the book the flood.

I love that Bungie went to all that effort to orchestrate a dramatic, tearjerking hero's death, and some kid is sitting at home thinking "giltee sparc is a masive n00b."

I think Gage Yevgenny from the short story Dirt had one of the most sad deaths. He saw everyone he cared about die and he had to turn on his friends to save some civilians and then he told his life story to the rookie right before he blew himself, his former friends, and the Covenant up with a shiva nuke.

Definitely Kat. After spending an entire mission under her guidance, seeing her just taken out like that was a total shock. Jorge was a close second, but the scenes and music after Kat's death are just too sad.

Johnson, though? Really? Cheesiest death ever.

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

Cause Johnson's "send me out with a bang" line is the 2nd worst line uttered in Halo (I'm sure everyone knows what the worst is).

I'd probably say Jacob Keyes.

I'm a very articulate person. In engrish.

It's never easy, is it?

I almost cried when Kat died. At least the others expected it... She was in the middle of speaking when a needle hits her in the head. Then to see her body be helplessly drug around by you makes it so much sadder, especially with the music. They did an excellent job with the storyline and details.
