Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But sooner or later, the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.
Tl:dr at bottom.
So, my little theory is if there is an Artificial Intelligence in the next game made by Bungie, that AI shall be named Joyeuse, or a corruption thereof, my reasoning being such: Cortana, the main AI in the Halo series, is a corruption of a the name of a type of sword known as a curtana; and the name of the AI in the Marathon games was Durandal, being a corruption of Durendel, the sword of Charlemagne's paladin Roland in the literary cycle known as the Matter of France (NB: I find it likely that the name was derived from the French for "endure;" "durer," hence the sword's famed indestructible nature) A famous curtana was that of Ogier the Dane, originally said to have been the sword of Tristan, the famous Cornish hero and Knight of the Round Table, if my history serves, which it does. (The curtana was, interestingly, renamed "Cortana" when it was cut down for ceremonial purposes.) But the reason that I have formulated my idea is that there was supposedly an inscription upon the curtana of Ogier the Dane that read upon the lines of "My name is Cortana, of the same steel and temper as Joyeuse and Durendal." Now, Joyeuse was the name of Charlemagne's personal sword, and can still be viewed in the Louvre today. Going by the nature of Bungie, I find it unlikely that they would not do such a thing, it being too much of an opportunity to pass up.
Thank you for reading,

tl:dr, the next AI will be named something like "Joyeuse" because it is one of three swords that are closely linked both in real life and the Bungie universes.
