Well me and my friends play a gametype called Truckin. More Specifically the map is Blood Gultch, the Gametype is Slayer, Only warhogs are used as vehicles, with a plasma gun only weapon selection. We also play Frag truckin with the default map weapon selection, but the style of play is drastically altered this way. But I've always had more fun with plasma. Also infinite grenades has to be off.
The only self controlled rule in the game, is that you can not SHOOT your weapon unless you're seated in a warthog. You can melee and you can toss your plasma grenades But you really dont have a ton of killing power unless you have 3-6 guys in the warthogs.
Hijacking is going to drastically change this gametype for me and my friends in a new fun way. As you can probably figure out, The game starts off with a mad dash for the warthog, both teams suit up and instantly go after each other. and Since the passenger is the only who can actually shoot his weapon a well placed overcharged plasma shot can pretty much instantly guarantee your team 3 kills and a new warthog to bring back to your team. Now if you're passenger was killed in the skirmish and the driver and gunner were the only two that survived, it becomes a defending mission. Usually the team with the manned warthog needs to defend the un-manned one against swarms of plasma grenade tossing opponents untill their team makes it on foot to the second warthog. Key to winning the game is to keep on moving... However there will be one minor change to the gameplay dynamics "hijacking" that will drastically change the game.
Theretically the best way to really destory at this game is to have two warthogs always near each other circling the opponents base running people over and shooting up anythingt hat spawns while constantly giving cover to your team's warthog. However that's not always the case, as sometimes people want to grab some extra health because they survived a plasma grenade sticking on thier vehicle and want to continue their onslaught. So more often then not you end up fighting a single warthog while the other one is busy restocking health, and possibley plasma grenades. So say for instance someone pulls a private donut long toss and nails the warthog from a considerable distance, everyone in the warthog jumps out to decrease their chances of dying from the blast. another grenade is tossed on to the warthog , it blows and you see the hog tumbeling thru the air, and now you got maybe 3-5 guys from opposing teams running at the same warthog. Now sometimes you get into a big melee fight, sometimes once you get close to the hog someone else tosses a plasma grenade on it, but most of the time everyone's out of grenades and can't shoot so whoever makes it to the warthog first is usually the team who claims it. depending on how it's positioned sometimes a person will jump into the gunner's seat or the passenger's seat and try to shoot up the enemys while everyone melees each other to kill off the oposing team and take the hog. sometimes the person gets in the driver's seat and speeds away back to a lone player in the middle of the field to pick up a gunner. But In some cases you end up with a person in one of the gunner's seats and a person standing outside the warthog in a blind spot, hopelessly waiting for either the guy to try to get into the driver's seat or for more people with grenades to show up. Even when someone jumps in the drivers seat and takes off at low speeds you could pretty much tell that there would be a lot of hi-jacking and re-hi-jacking going on.
To say the least it will be an exciting gametype to try out when halo2 is released.
