Here is the Exclusive Interview with Reiginko given a tad while before his departure. I was lucky enough to have given this to him and am thankful he replied with it answered.
It is probably one of the funnier interviews and deffinetly an enjoyable read. Enjoy:
Brought to you by: The Guide
1. How long were you a member of b.net before you became a mod?
This is a complicated question. I joined bungie.net back in the days of Myth, in either 97 or 98. Or maybe it was 99. Let's go with 98. And let's see, I'm going to say June, because that is easy to say. Nice and short - June is a lovely concise syllable. You can never trip over June. I mean, what kind of word is "February"? Who came up with these names in the first place? Yeah, June is good. Named after Juno, you know. And who better to respect than Juno?
I got a little off-track there. Feel free to stop me if I do it again.
OK, so when did I become a forum moderator? If I recall correctly, it was in either the July or August of 2004. Most probably August, and late August at that. So a vague answer would be a bit over 6 years.
However, my "real" join date says I joined on the 17th of November 2001, which would suggest I became a moderator less than 4 years after joining this website. Heck, there weren't even any forums back then! The Underground came about in late 2002. I wasn't even active on it until some time in 2003, and even then I was patchy - I'm pretty sure back then nobody would've even recognised my name. I built up in regulocity in late 2003 and early 2004, and when the New Hotness hit, there was probably someone who twinged a bit of recognition at my stupid signature. Someone even claimed they remembered my avatara joke, though I knew was lying. I became a "proper" regular after the new hotness hit, and I decided that, even though I was better than everyone else who posted on the forums, I could probably stick around. After all, that HBO forum is for losers; who wants to be a loser?
I don't think your question has an answer. Go ask a Buddhist monk or something.
2. What was your initial reaction when you got the notice?
"Gosh, stosh, that's bosh! You did WHAT?!" I was a little surprised. At that point I still didn't think that anyone knew who I was. My name never came up in those "WHO SHOULD BE A MODERATOR@!!!!" polls; that was probably a good thing.
3. What was your first week like as a mod?
I can't remember. I have a bad memory. Have you noticed?
4. What is your favorite part about being a mod?
All the fan mail I get. I've lost count of the number of awesome games of LMotH on Dead Man's Chest in Myth I've missed because I'm so dedicated to my fans.
Oh, and I suppose finally realising my dream of turning my lame avatara joke into a REALITY was a bit cool. Though nobody agrees, I'm sure.
5. How many people do you blacklisted a day on average?
No idea, I'm afraid. Less than the other moderator's, I'm pretty sure. Whole weeks have been known to go by without a single Reiginkisation of a spammer; then again, I've blacklisted more than 10 people in as many minutes on several occasions. Let's take a poke at half a spammer a day, though that's still probably an overestimate. Also remember that we poor moderators didn't even get the power to unleash ninjas until quite a few months after I got Mod-ified. That was relevant, right?
6. About How many people have you blacklisted so far?
I don't really keep records of that kind of thing. I only started doing that a couple of months ago, and I haven't even been vigilant in doing that. Sorry, I don't think I can tell you that.
7. What are some things people have said about your avatar?
I'll give you three guesses.
8. What kinda mod are you? Outgoing, or reserved? Do you attack from the shadows? Or make youself seen?
Mood? I'm changing the question to "personality" if you don't mind.
I'm reserved. I moderate from the shadows mostly - if your thread's deleted by me you'll get a PM; I won't lock it and write a pithy comeback for everyone to see. The forums are messy enough. I do like to contribute to a thread now and then, or tell people to calm it down if I need to mediate before a flamewar breaks out.
9. Do you IRC?
I think we both know the answer to that... yes.
* What channels do you frequent and what do you like most about IRC?
That would be telling wouldn't it? I've been known to visit #hbo on occasion, and I'm always in #Cfounders. I even created the #myth channel on irc.bungie.org, which is the Myth Jumpers chapter's channel; don't join if you don't Myth - you will be destructurised.
10. What were some of your normal hang out spots on b.net before modship? How about now?
Hang out? Hmm. I've always been a bit of a main forums man. I used to frequent the Septagon and Underground mostly before I became a Moderator - the Underground out of habit from before the New Hotness, and the Septagon because of its leisurely pace. I was a semi-active member of some Chapters. I'm probably still in the ones that aren't deleted yet. Veteran Bungie fans was one of these. Dead as a doornail these days, though it used to have a small but fairly active, though eclectic, membership. I was in the Arbiters back when it was cool; mostly because I wanted to show these new Halo fans what Bungie fandom was all about. Then the New Hotness came and put a stop to that.
These days my chapter hangouts are HFCS (duh), Body Politic and the Myth Jumpers. I've also recently joined tommccain's Mathematics chapter, and I'm pretty active there too. If you're a maths geek join now. If not, you really suck.
11. You were one of the first members ever on b.net.... What was the old site like in your opinion?
I wasn't really. I was the 733rd person to join the Old Crapness/Sexness in November 2001. This means nothing really, a huge amount of old Bungie fans from Marathon and Myth fan groups joined on that same day; it really depends on what time you connected to the internet and saw that things were a little different now. Then the New Hotness came in April 2004 and a huge number of dead accounts got deleted and my profile ID zoomed down to 76.
OK. The old site had some cool features, some lame ones. The cool ones were optional -blam!- filter, you had to preview your post before posting, Matt Soell was still around, the Disembodied Soul was not only on the Bungie Support page, but also gave out free Emotional Support on the forums. Chapter resources were much cooler and more customisable too than they are now, though I really never took advantage of that - my two attempts at chapter creation failed miserably. Some people managed some cool stuff with those databases though. The number of people on the Underground was smaller too, so you didn't have this huge volume of people posting every day. So it was far easier to keep up (you could find your post from yesterday - on the first page of the Underground!).
Lame features were mostly performance-related. For example, you had to wait a minute or so before your post would show up. No avatars (the suggestion to add them was the origin of the Avatara Joke™, by the way). Most of the cool people who make up the bungie.net community now weren't around. Oh, and I couldn't ban morons. :)
12. What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I go on bungie.net. Apart from that I read, listen to music, watch TV, and play games - mostly Halo and Myth. Normal stuff.
13. Have you founded any groups? Which ones? Tell me about them... How are they doing?
My first Chapter was Road Regulations. It was nothing. It had no purpose. You can still find it on the wayback machine. Just don't look at the Databases. I then formulated a grand plan to create a bungie.org-esque group of bungie fansites, which tanked because I didn't really want to do that.
The only other group (and the only successful one) is Body Politic. It's doing great - discuss politics and that's it. People dig that kind of thing.
14. Favorite food?
Anything with meat. Failing that, dunk whatever you're eating in honey. Ever tried cold roast potato drizzled with honey? You're missing out.
15. Eye Colour?
Hazel, apparently. I'm colour blind, and also don't take any notice of people's eyes anyway. Seems sort of a minor attribute.
16. Favorite Band or Musical Group?
I protest and modify the quisitional sentence fragment to "Favourite Composer"; the answer is of course Beethoven. Followed closely by Bach. And then in a many-way tie Brahms, Mendelssohn, Grieg, Elgar, Eddie Sauter, Mozart, Haydn, Shostakovich and Prokofiev. Bands suck.
17. Anything you would like to tell the members of b.net and your fans?
Stop posting. Please. Every post you make means we have to work some more.*
Wait, who are you again?

*This is not serious. I am not actually a cynical bastard. I love you all.
