Subject: Will you Buy PS4 due to the lack of support for old games like H2?

This is the average H2 Fanboy.
Xfire: JacobGRocks.
50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

I'm going to deal my better card.
Only less then 1000 people were on h2 BEFORE the shutdown was announced. And almost xbox live game was dead other then halo 2. Then came the shut down and "zOMG SHUTDOWN DON'T SHUT HALO 2" and a bunch of people jumped in at the last second for one last game.

That's the end of Halo 2. It's not that epic, just another shutdown in the world of gaming. There are far more epic endings.

alright, to many statistics, can we all put in a team effort and find some links?

Just thread dig. It's hard since almost all the posts though are halo 2 counts at the end.

Halo 2 for Life!

No easy task, someone in this forum will know. Eventually word will Reach Microsoft from the Halo forums of H2 being sorely missed and holding back growth in its Halo franchise but when that occurs is up in the air.

They have to show guts (nothing is ever for certain, they might need to take some risk to get a reward) and initiative to do some polling of it's customers of what they would like to see (maybe in the B.net forum) in an un-bias way.

They would probably find out that "new servers" (which could be old servers) is to their advantage in the gaming wars that are about to happen (talking about the new systems coming down the pipe).

we need to find a way to prove to Microsoft that people will play Halo 2 if it comes back on

question is, how do you convince Mr. money to make a new server?

Good point,

a new technology must be made for adapting H2 for the new system or some other advance has to be made. There is probably an easy way to do it but I think Microsoft didn't even attempt to save H2 on XBL.

If it was PS that had the rights to the Halo franchise (or if all gaming companies had access to it), this issue probably wouldn't have occurred.

fine then i'll deal my last card, which kinda sucks

Halo 2 on 360=not the same, lets not lie :/

Halo 2 revived without any updates= ok its the same

BUT think, Halo 2 turned back on would mean you have to turn on the server for the entire original Xbox, that means all the games would be turned on

Microsoft won't bring back the Original Xbox from the dead for 1 game, so you would have to have damm near ALL the games be pleaded for and have a lot of people play, and obviously we can't do that

Maybe, just maybe they can make a separate server for Halo 2, but i highly doubt it

I dont have access to numbers. I experinced it, and saw how many were online each day.

Alright with those numbers i want to start seeing links, no offense

Unique player weekly was around 20,000. The last day over 100,000 were online all at once with a couple hundread thousand unique users that weeks. Their was plenty of people wanting to play H2 online! I dont see your points as valid.

Halo 2 for Life!

Bungie is the only one that has stats during that time to my knowledge (they probably hid some of it from Microsoft knowing their relationship). I dont trust data from them though, they have their own agenda in this situation. XBL data source might have data that is true but I'm unsure of it's quality as well because it's always weird (H2,H3,Hreach had episodes when people online was 0 or a low number when their were people online).

Stats are complicated (especially with the biases involved) lets keep it simple and say their were thousands of H2 players each day playing.

I remember being it in the very low thousands. Population was dying, and playlists were dead.

ME2 was known for stupidity and being retarded

Na, I'd be talking to you.

16 so you were a kid when it was out... lol.

You probably liked H3 and Hreach more just based on the fact you were older and more mature and able to handle trash talk more.

That's why Halo2 was rated 18+ from my memory. H2 online was a trash talking circus not fit for younger people as they would find it disagreeable and un-fun compared to older people, even if the quality of game was really good, you might still think it's bad (as you were probably trashed talked a lot).

Here is an example of some of the trash talking:

Did you play BTB?
Because if you didn't you missed alot.

Where you a little kid when H2 was first out?
If you were you probably were made fun of alot and so wouldn't have liked it as much as those actually old enough to play the game legally (legally buy it).

Nah. Campaign is fine. Halo 2 was actually my least favorite multiplayer-wise.

WTF? I was 12 when Halo: CE came out and that means I was 16 when Halo 2 came out. Were you talking about yourself?

Wasn't a "little kid" when it came out. It just thought it was the worst multiplayer-wise. OK? That's just my damn opinion! Reach, now that I think about it, is worse.
