No one's replacing him. It's fine as it is. We just got 6 new mods, and things are pretty smooth at the moment. It's not that important to have 16 mods.

I was under the impression that you needed to use proper English, at least to the best of one's ability, to be a mod.

Along with other, more important details, but I was sure that proper English use was fairly high up there.

I would think responsibility would be up there. A thourough knowledge of forum rules, a fair amount of free time to get on and moderate the forums, a sense of humor, and other stuff I am sure are on the list as well.

So sure, people have fit within some of the criteria to be considered to be a mod, but that doesn't mean they will become one.

Oh, also, no one could take another mod's place. Only the power vacuum left behind can be filled. That would be like trying to replace Shishka or Recon or TGP or any of the other great mods. Hell, that would be like trying to replace Sketch or Achronos. You can't do it.

Pax vobiscum.

Maybe they don't need a replacement.

Why does everyone automatically assume that a Mod will be "replaced" when he leaves? Sigma left, he wasn't "replaced", Reigi is leaving, my bet is he will not be replaced. There is no such thing as "replacing" a Moderator. They pick them when they need them, and they pick worthy people. Just because one leaves does not mean they now need one or that anyone is worthy (though I can think of a few who are Psyched, GP, ect...). If a Mod is going to be "replaced" or a new one made you can be sure it will be made known to the Community, you dont have to ask questions like this everytime something like this happens.

Meh. It is something that is usually assumed, which isn't always the best idea. Often people feel that when a moderator leaves, they create a hole in the circle that must be filled. Almost like the old feudal ages. It is the idea that a hole has been created, and must now be filled.

But, we must remember that this group does not run like a feudalistic society, or else there would be a replacement.

And no, I won't draw anyone a diagram.

Furthermore, who are you to say you have "the stuff"(not directed at any person, a general statement)? What is "the stuff"? The only ones who really know are Achronos and the other Moderators. You cant really say you have "the stuff" if you dont know what it is, and you'll never know if you do until the day your asked to be a Mod (highly unlikely). You knwo I knew threads like this would pop up when Reig told me he was gone for good, but it still makes me a bit annoyed. There is no such thing as "teh stuff". Either your a Mod, or your not, its that simple.

I think you people need to stop obsessing over the existing Mods and becoming one yourself and just be a member of the Community.

Is it wrong to have ambition? Is it wrong to be human?

Like I said, so many treat the power on this site as though this were a feudal society. As with a feudal society, each seat of power must be filled to keep a balance.

So it is natural that any line of thinking along these lines will lead to threads like this, and inevitably lead to those like you, who will tell people that what they thought was wrong, and most likely people like myself, who will explain the situation to the best of his ability.

In other words, no need to get worked up. He is acting like a normal human.

Summary: Do not disrespect a great member who is leaving

I can't believe people would make threads about someone who was a great person on this website. It'd be different if the threads were supporting the person, instead the threads bring down the community by expressing who or what is going to replace that person. Can you not just spend your greedy time remembering a great person? I guess not, it kills me how many people care about the "moderator" title or whatever.

How does it bring down the community? Well, people will usually argue about what to do, first off. Then there goes about the way to do this first thing. By that time, people will be arguing with each other so much that nothing positive will come out of it.

And it would be a bit uncomfortable for the newcomer. I'm glad I came in with 5 others. Less... pressure.

But anyway, stop talking about it. We can't "replace" Reiginko.

And who would wish to replace him. Replacing anyone is an extremely hard task, nearing impossible. Taking their seat of power is a different story, and really irrelevent, because there is no need for the seat to be filled. I think it will just be put in the closet until a possible time that it would be needed.

*Shudder* I'd hate to be the person to take the seat of power. All alone, expected to be great like Reiginko. *Shudder*

Damn people, The guy has barely left, and already are we talking about his replacement.

Well guess what, it won't be any of us. We don't have "the stuff". And the guy who does have it, won't be saying it here. he doesn't even know he has it till the day he/she recieves that message.

Do you know the saying about assuming? Well, don't assume we will have somebody take his place. I'm just going to lock this thread now, since it serves absolutely no purpose.
