Subject: The order of the Halo Novels?

For Christmas a few years ago, I got the Halo trilogy book set. It came with Halo: Fall of Reach, Halo: The Flood and Halo: First Strike.

I remember liking all these books and recently I learned that there are more Halo novels. I have a lot of time on my hands nowadays and I want to read every Halo novel in order.

So I ask you more knowledgeable forum goers to make a list for me of the 6 Halo Novels and the order they should be read in.

Pretty please?

Finding the love of my life, and moving house really screwed up my gaming orientated lifestyle.

The order I'd read the books in:

1. Contact Harvest
2. The Fall of Reach
3. The Cole protocol
4. The Flood
5. First Strike
6. The Ghosts of Onyx

The graphic novels I'm not to sure about, as; I've never read them, though, from what I understand; so long as you have a basic knowledge of the Halo universe; it really wouldn't matter.

Close but it goes Contact Harvest, The Cole Protocol, then The Fall of Reach. The Cole Protocol is about Keyes when he was a lieutenant and he's on a secret mission with spartan grey team so it wouldn't make since for Keyes to be a captain in The Fall of Reach escape to halo then be a leutinant on a secret mission then go back to being a captain in The Flood on the halo ring.

The reason I went with that order is because of the inclusion of Grey team, otherwise; I would agree with you. Each to his own.

I dont know exactly what to call it, but it has something to do with spaggetti, duct tape and razor blades...

I read them in the order they were released. I'd love to re-read them in the correct order. I just got into Stephen King's Dark Tower series, though. It's like 8 books and I'm only about 1/2 way through the second.

A re-read of Halo is next.

Well I haven't read either of those books so I have no idea what you guys are talking about, but I think I'll just go with the list provided as long as it doesn't ruin anything.

Thanks for all the input people

Chronological order is all fun and good for re-reading, but publication order is probably the best for reading the series for the first time. I remember that the books make references to each other now and then, so you'll probably understand them better if you go with publication order. Worked for me, at least.

Publication order probably makes the most sense, based on the content that is progressively introduced.

Fall of Reach
The Flood
First Strike
Ghosts of Onyx
Contact Harvest
The Cole Protocol
Halo: Evolutions
