So long, Halo. Megszakad a szívem

They make the Elites look more like brutes, in terms of intelligence and agility. They move around like hulking giants, slowly and stupidly, when in the real universe they are known to be extremely smart, athletic and agile. They also stripped them of energy shields among other things during the Spartan v. Elite cutscene near the end.

If you cannot lead by example , intimidate.

Yah specially the monsters cutscene . There honor guards with spears wtf?

My jokes, so I don't lose them (ignore this):
ZedFish's Opinion on Sgt. Foley.
ZedFish's Forerunner Rickroll.

I suppose, but canonically (aside from the lack of athleticism) it was the closest match to a Spartan v. Elite fight in any game.
In the books, three bullets to take out shields, one to kill. That's a burst of an assault rifle to kill an elite, and Halo Wars has come the closest to that in it's cutscenes.

i really enjoyed the Halo Wars cutscenes, they were beautifully rendered. But,I have to agree, in 'Monsters'. despite the enegy of the fight, it made no sense to have a bunch of highly trained elites run at Spartans with spears. During the cutscene (I forget the name) when Forge and co. are discovered in the forerunner structure by active camo, needler wielding Elites. What's with that rate of fire? It was a little weak and limp. But, they are still the finest cutscenes of any Halo game by rendering alone.
The point first made about Elites being slow and aloof, like Brutes, is valid, but remember they are alien, and should look a little odd, but a bit more agility would have been good to see

That's only true when a Spartan is weilding the Assault rifle. When a dozen marines open fire on an Elite they do no damage whatsoever. :P

My only issue was the battle from the opening scene.
It was ridiculously unrealistic, I mean there was a marine standing out in the open firing a shotgun from long range.

And the warthog gunner was retarded.

I hated how they portrayed the Arbiter, and how a normal human managed to kill him.

Not all elites have energy shields.

Most of the medium to High ranking ones do.

Even the low ranking elite minors are supposed to have shields, and those were honor guards anyways, which are very high ranking.

Actually if you look closely the elites with the spears are minors. Which is quite odd considering that honor guards are supposed to have spears, maybe they wanted to prove themselves to the arbiter by taking the spears off the dead honor guards, maybe they wanted to die with honor, or they underestimated the spartans and Forge.

What a waste....

Well, you have to remember that Elites are 7-13 feet tall. And the honor guards have spears in Halo 2. I think the ones in HW were just blood raging or something akin to that.

Consider Halo CE to be absolute cannon, being the first Halo themed thing ever.

All elites had shields.

Actually you are wrong, newer canon supersedes older canon, with games overriding books.

That said, you are correct in that all elites have shields. This could have been artistic license on the part of Ensemble.

The cinematics of that game are so astonishing and mind blowing but I did laugh at the guys who were shotgunning at long range like the were dove hunting and the warthog gunner just put like 3 rounds in the direction of the enemy and didn't care to kill anyone he just wanted to shoot a little bit but the Monsters cut scene was just awesome because of the agility of the spartans and the reason why Forge beat the arbiter is because of the arbiters ego. The arbiter would have won he he hadn't of looked Forge in the face like he asked, he should have known something was up.

Well, he should've killed him when he approached him with active camo..

Game canon=>=Book canon.
The books are WRONG compared to the games.

Still it was his ego, the arbiter is a disgraced elite serving the council until death. I'm pretty sure his ego is what helped get him there.

Where is this mentioned? I was always under the impression that shields in the books were always stronger than how they were portrayed in the games.
