Ok, dig this cats. I don't know if it's been discussed before, so if it has I'm sorry.

Talk of a Halo movie has been flying around for years and the actual project has been in "Development Hell" almost as long. But considering the excellent live-action shorts made to advertise the games, wouldn't it make sense to turn the Halo franchise into a lower-cost, but still high-quality TV series?

Here's my interpretation...

SEASON 1

Avery Johnson is our main character. His start with the marines, entry to special forces training, ORION/SPARTAN-I, The Insurrection, OPERATION TREBUCHET, KALEIDOSCOPE, TANGLEWOOD.
We also follow a sub-plot with Dr. Halsey, joining ONI, starting the SPARTAN-II project, meeting Jacob Keyes, the search for the children. The SPARTAN II story is saved for season 2.
We follow Avery to Harvest and the inevitable first contact with the covenant. Perhaps include a small sub-plot with the council of AIs mentioned in the Reach datapads. The season finale is the battle and escape from Harvest.

SEASON 2

The SPARTAN-II story. John, Kelly and Sam are our main characters. We follow them directly into boot as they interact with Mendez, Halsey and Deja. We are also introduced to Linda, Will, Fred, Kurt, Gray Team, Black Team and others.
Our secondary plot follows Admiral Cole and his fight against the Covenant. Dr. Halsey also has her brief relationship with Keyes and gives birth to Miranda.
The SPARTAN-IIs are put on active duty and we see their operations. Contact is made with the covenant and they are given MJOLNIR. Cliffhanger ending.

SEASON 3

The SPARTAN-IIs fight the Covenant. Kurt goes missing on the mysterious EVA mission. We see some fantastic battles in contrast to the internal/external drama. The fight continues right up until the Battle of Reach and another cliffhanger ending.

SEASON 4

Kurt Ambrose is now our main character. We follow him from the mission on which he disappeared. He wakes up and has his meeting with Akerson. He is reunited with Mendez and agrees to train the SPARTAN-IIIs.
We follow the training and fielding of Alpha and Beta company. We see recruits like Carter and Kat assigned to special ops.
Gamma company is trained. We hear about events on Reach and something about an alien ring but don't see them. Leads up to the Battle of Onyx and ends with entry to the Micro Dyson Sphere.

SEASON 5

We start with the Battle of Sigma Octanis IV and see the tracking device the Covenant use to find Reach when the Iroquois returns.
Dr. Halsey and Captain Keyes play an important role in devising Operation RED FLAG. But as the SPARTAN-IIs are prepared, the Covenant find Reach.
The Battle of Reach. Every event of the battle is told. We follow the SPARTAN-IIs as well as Noble Team, Gauntlet and Echo.
Season ends with another cliffhanger. The Pillar of Autumn escapes with only John and the near-dead Linda in stasis. Captain Keyes orders a "blind jump" as per the Cole Protocol but Cortana has a better idea based on information gathered from the artifact found on Sigma Octanis IV and the SWORD Base excavation.
For the first time we see into a Covenant bridge. Thel Vadamee's ship. One of his officers notices the PoA escaping and he gives the order to his fleet to pursue the Pillar of Autumn into slipspace.

FILMS

In parallel with the television series it might now be viable to make Halo 1, 2 and 3 into great big epic movies that make a -blam!--ton of money. I'm looking at you Hollywood. Lets make this happen.

SEASON 6

The events portrayed in Halo: First Strike, and everything between Halo 2 and 3.
Sub-plot follows Buck and his Helljumpers from Reach to the first and Second Battles of New Mombasa.

SEASON 7

What comes after Halo 3? The Sanghelli return home and fight the Covenant loyalists? John wakes up? Back to Onyx? Something with the Forerunners?

CONCLUSION

So there you have my ideas for a Halo television series. And if any producer types are listening, my services are always available as a freelance or staff writer ;) What do you think? Y/N?
