I was wondering, do all of the little picture things like headernavstart and headernavend have to be gifs? Because I hate using gifs, in my opinion they are stupid and worthless, because You can only use some colors and I cant really do anything with them unless they are jpegs. They are like impossible to edit the way you want, especialy with paint. Please help me out.

The only image that can be a JPEG is HeaderBackground.

Well do you have any suggestions about how to edit them easier, like programs or something, and are they allowed to animated?

PS, I'm surprised your not a theme master by now, you've created some pretty cool themes

They're not very difficult to edit in photoshop (and probably paintshop pro). Just open, change, save/replace.

Yes, you can use animated gifs as long as the don't distract from the piece cause then very few people will like it.

Paintshop Pro 9 comes complete with an Animated Gif creation program.

If you're thinking of doing animated gifs, then beware - not every piece of the page will download at once, and you shouldn't create animations on the assumption that they will be always in sync. I removed the animations from my Fleet Command theme for this very reason...

I don't want a free trial though... Once it expires I don't know what I'll do.

I don't know about this free trial, but sometimes you can download it again or set your windows clock back so that the date is within the time you're allowed to use it.

Also, this might fix it. I did a simple google search for "Photoshop alternatives" and after like 2 clicks came up with this.

OK, I just download it...This program is really good, and easy...
Though, it is unique, and strange to learn how to use at first, but I learned it pretty quickly and it is VERY easy to use with GIFs and 3D. I suggest using it. It made life a Hella lot easier than with MSpaint.

Another possible program you (or anybody) may want to consider is Paint.net. It's got a lot of features similar to aforementioned image editing software, and is pretty damn good for freeware. I've never used Photoshop or Paintshop Pro before though, so I can't really make an accurate comparison.
