can anyone explain to me (who read the book) why the covenant found hundreds of circular patterns of dots using their forerunner technology on harvest? and why were some marked as reclaimers?

That's what the humans are. Humans, the descendants of the Forerunner, are considered Reclaimers.

The latest excerpts from Halo: Cryptum and the terminals from Halo 3 suggest otherwise (infact in the excerpts there was a Forerunner-Human War when Humanity in Haloverse was advanced before they got devolved).

During the Forerunner-Flood war, the Forerunners likely changed their mind and then made up for humans it be "reclaimers" for their lost position.

Interesting, haven't read those yet, are they pretty good? Also, I though Halo 3 confirmed humans are Reclaimers, that's what I got out of it.

Well by "Reclaimers" could be refering to relaim position in the Galaxy or something like that. Don't forget 343 Guilty Spark was pretty much insane.

Yes, but weren't the Terminals by Mendicant Bias? Also, I don't think Spark was crazy, rampant for sure, but he is still intelligent and knows what he is talking about in my opinion.

Consider he thought wiping out every sentient being was the ONLY thing that could kill the flood. I suppose you could say he used his intelligence in a wrong way....

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

That was his purpose and what he was programmed to believe, I think he was acting exactly as he meant to.
