Adapt or die.

the last level in halo CE is cool and normal until you start driving. for years I've wondered what part of the ship you're driving through that goes up and down and left and right for more than a kilometer.

don't get me wrong, this is one of my favorite games along with other halo games, I just don't understand why the level is made like that.

I know that for alot of people this is one of their favorite parts of the game, but for me I agree with the OP.

For someone who likes to walk as much of the game as possible, fighting along the way, the end just doesnt offer that much to me. If nothing else, I am happy to die before completiong in order to see the food nipple grunt, or try to take out one of the shade gunners in the final hanger.

Other than that one final drive, I love the game and always will!

But...the final drive was my favourite part!

It was an original way to end a game!

It's not realistic at all, but then, nothing about the PoA's internal geometry anywhere in the game is (contrast with the T&R, which DOES seem to have proper internal geometry).

Personally, I love it.

yes, it might be fun, but what is it supposed to be?

Fun.

This though. As logically incorrect as the warthog run is, it's a video game, and in the end video games are meant to be fun.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Yeah, I've always wondered about the inner workings of that ship as well. Especially where you could be located when Foehammer crashes.

You can't Co-op using two hogs. The spawn system really effs with your ability to drive seperate vehicles.
Also, some of the hills are too steep to walk up and prevents you from moving on foot if you are so inclined.

played this game for what 8 or 9 years, never really realized this. But, co-cop driving made it fun, doing the last part by yourself would suck i think. no fun.

It's just a game. I did wonder why that was there though. Oh well, it still makes 10x as much sense as Stargate.

  • 12.28.2010 10:37 AM PDT

lol.

It was awesome. That being said, I know what you mean. That part was a little reaching, even for Bungie. Cortana does explain it as an external service corridor or something to that effect. However, some portions of it are just strange, the most notably being the area where Echo 419 is shot down, and the area where you take the huge jump.

Seeing that it is a service route, it would make sense that it's designed for vehicles. The ship is rather large, nobody wants to walk it, driving would just make sense. That being said, Halcyon-class cruisers tend to spend most, if not all, their time in space...

Don't think too much about it. All of the Halo campaigns have things in them which don't make all that much sense.

Something smells fishy...

I like the last level because it was fun.

I'm a dude playing a dude desguised as another dude. I hate heritics, non-logical thoughts and people who are better than I am. People tell me that they like a lot of games, but I hate them all. Whenever I play a video game, I always go crawling back to Halo 3. Never go full retard!

The ending is awsome!! Come on.

a good game has to have an epic ending or it will feel pointless when it's over

Adapt or die.

I'm not complaining about the ending, just wondering what it's supposed to be.

I enjoyed the 'hog run, as little sense as it makes.

I don't know what its supposed to be. My best guess is this. You are starting at one end of the ship and have to make your way to a hangar on the far end. The path you take is one used to move vehicles, equipment, and people throughout the different hangars. If you think about it, it sorta makes sense. Depending on where the ship is, and what hangar you need to exit from, if the other hangars are blocked, or damaged, you may have to move all that stuff around so you would need a long large passage that runs the length of the ship.

The Maw is epic for epic's sake. Don't question its epicness! The ship is blowing to bits and moving in a million directions because that's what needs to happen at that moment. Plant your Spartan ass in that Warthog's seat and hit the gas Sierra117! Ooh-Rah!!!

This is so rare, but, you've taken the thoughts directly from my mind, Jedimoose. Absolutely it.

Yeah, like putting the bridge right on the front with big windows so it's easy to shoot.

Something like that was said in The Flood.

sorry ninja, i love halo, plus not being rude, for decades i thought to myself, why is there no roof in the area of the hogs run? plus where echo419 gets shot down, why is the a huge gap in between the ship? bothers me thinking about it.....

Decades ? Yikes. Frickin great points, Chris. Honestly, have never even thought about that. I guess some lame explanation of the ship's outer shell being removed would do, but, really ? Nice action guys. :)

  • 01.11.2011 6:28 PM PDT

Wait, what? egg, you didn't notice that the ship there was connected only by a single, thing bridge?
