I didn't notice much as I rallied against the nightmare in front of me. That run is the apex of sh**y, yet awesome finales. Actually doing it on Legendary is a frickin labor of love.

the last level in halo CE is cool and normal until you start driving. for years I've wondered what part of the ship you're driving through that goes up and down and left and right for more than a kilometer.

don't get me wrong, this is one of my favorite games along with other halo games, I just don't understand why the level is made like that.

i did the level yesterday and thought of that

It doesn't make sense, however can you imagine driving a Warthog through the first level?

l;abhrfiodj!!

As for the outdoor sections I can say this. The ship had been bombarded by plasma shots, blown up from the inside from an anti matter charge, and manually crashed onto a spinning ring. Oh and it was being dissected and analyzed by the monitor and his sentinels, and there was combat between humans flood and covenant raging inside.

I can understand there being big gaping holes in the hull of the ship, heck I would understand the ship actually being broken in half. Oh and about the outdoor junction access whatever thing where the pelican was supposed to pick you up, it could have been a docking area where the ship would normally pull back it's armor to attach to another ship or to ferry supplies.

So there is your logic..... only problem now is the fact that the warthog run is 3x longer than the length of the entire ship.....

so if the warthog run was about 5 or so KM's long, and we are saying that the ship was smaller, how small is the pillar of autumn? that ship looks huge, i think the hog run was to short, plus this is what i think......
the hanger is on the side of the ship
we are not going in a straight line
we take left and right turns
we jump into different levels/stories of the ship
judging by the Autumns size i think that ship is 10Km's long
a frigate is probly half its length........

Jawldee is going to run you over in his pick up truck.

I second that.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

The level was designed before the final look of the ship was decided on. That's why there are so many discrepencies.

For example, the Autumn is supposed be only a 1.17 kilometers long, but in the final level Chief drives well over two kilometers.

In reply to the topic: Because of replayability. I've come back, years later, and played The Maw because it's the most engaging part of the game. I'm sure many would have te same story.
