All counter-arguments to evolution are based on a gross misunderstanding of the theory.

Official Xbox Magazine is the source

Says OXM:
"Earlier this week videogame website CVG reported that Microsoft internal studio 343 Industries, staffed with some ex-Bungie employees, is working on a Halo: Combat Evolved remake.

CVG cites "industry chatter" reported in the new issue of U.K. GamesMaster magazine. The publication wrote that the refreshed Halo: CE could run on Halo: Reach's engine and release before a sequel to Halo 3 in late 2012.

If there's validity in any of this, the Halo: CE remake could ship around the 10th anniversary of the franchise in November 2011.

If you've listened to our latest KOXM podcast, you heard me say that I'm all in favor of a Halo: CE as long as after the technical upgrade it still feels exactly the same. Do that, 343, and I will enjoy Halo: CE on Xbox Live all night long."

What do you think?

"Where theres tea, theres hope!"

I would be more in favour of DLC than a remake.

My view on it is, Halo CE is what made Xbox what it is today. There's no doubt about that. I feel like this game should at least have a chance to make it's way back into the modern gaming scene, which at the moment is impossible since it's an Xbox 1 game on the 360: No live, no achievements, graphics that turn away most modern gamers, and so on.

>.<

I usually don't like remakes, because it never has the right feel than the originals. If the rumored remake is made, and I play it, it would really take a lot to make me like it.

If it's true, it needs to be done right. Reach was not a good note for Bungie to leave Halo on.

Even if nothing else (levels, story, etc) changed, a remake would be a very different game (not for the better) using the Reach engine. I can only hope this does not happen.

I'd love it! Halo: Reach honestly feels the closest to Halo 1 to me out of all the Halos. Halo 2 felt like a COMPLETELY different game, Halo 3 was a bit closer, and Halo: Reach got really close. If it were made on the Reach engine, I think it would be perfect. Mostly everyone will complain and say it's crap, but, that's what the Halo community does to every new Halo game.

You do understand that they can remove armor abilities? right?

you know, cuz if you didn't and blatantly assumed that they would just change the environments, then that would be pretty stupid.

Campaign-wise, you are correct, community-wise, it was perfect.

They could just make a Multiplayer only version, with updated graphics, maybe one or two extra guns (Plasma sword, SMG etc.), it would be cool if as well as the original Halo CE maps they put in popular custom edition maps as well, like Yoyorast island, but if forge comes with it then there might not be any need.
