Look up the definition of LUST before YOU tell ME that I;m twisting the context. I know what lust is. Lust is not what farmers do when they kill their stock animals, lust is not what people feel when eating meat,

You completely missed the point. Doing it for lust/doing it for enjoyment. Same thing, when you compare it to morals.

No. They're not. They are not the same thing. No. Non. Here since you can't seem to do it your damn self...

Lust, noun:

Intense or unrestrained -blam!- craving.
1. An overwhelming desire or craving: a lust for power.
2. Intense eagerness or enthusiasm: a lust for life.
Obsolete. Pleasure; relish.

Enjoyment, noun
1. The act or state of enjoying.
2. Use or possession of something beneficial or pleasurable.
3. Something that gives pleasure: Classical music was her chief enjoyment.
4. Law. The exercise of a right.

I eat them because I want to. Same reason I eat other forms of life. (Vegetation)

It's that simple. In the grand scheme of life it doesn't matter if something dies alone, terrified, or in a horrible way. Because then it's dead, and it no longer feels, and that means in itself that it doesn't matter if it ever felt love, or fear, or pain in it's life.

I am a cold, heartless monster in a way. In the grand scheme of things this doesn't matter either. I don't care how a living creature feels. If if dies, and it's edible then I will enjoy its meat. We are multi-cell organisms, plants, and animals a like. The only difference is that we feel pain, when plants don't, but again... I don't care.

There, OP. Do you like my answer?

Well nothing matters in the grand scheme of things.

But if everyone thought that way, we'd never have any good. It's a pointless way of thinking.

But I do like your answer, you basically agree with me, but say it doesn't matter anyway!

He doesn't agree with anyone. He says that once its dead it doesn't matter anymore, whereas you keep saying they should never be dead...

Killing animals for food and killing animals for lust are two different things. If you , sir, fail to see that you are wrong in the head.

BUT MY POINT IS THAT IT'S NOT FOR FOOD AND THAT IT IS FOR LUST!
I kill animals for food....

You kill them because they taste nice, not because you need to eat them. Therefore, it's lust.

You say, who are we to determine life. Who are you to determine why we kill? Your arguments have been shot down constantly, faster than a 757 with a huge-ass magnet on its wings.

If I kill, I kill. I've hunted countless times, and I'm not even an adult. I hunted for food. To survive.

Don't believe me? Prove this wrong: if there is one thing humans are good at, it's killing other living things.

our teeth are meant to eat both meat and plants or else we would have teeth like a horse or a cow rather than a combination, and its more rich in energy, and easier to digest. humans are specifically designed by evolution to eat both meat and plants.

vegetarians need to deal with the fact that we can eat both without consequence. and however much they cry and whine about animal rights its not going to change because thats how this planet has worked for millions and millions of years small animals are eaten by larger animals and larger animals die and are eaten by scavengers.

tl;dr
DEAL WITH IT. don't force a life decision on me because you see fit to do so.

or we kill the larger animal with a gun then we eat it. Either way we are on top.

This is not just as they dont have guns

You go from "we aren't designed to," to "it isn't morally straight," to "we do it for lust."

Jeez, stick to a damn argument.

They all still stand, although the first is far from proven correct (by me) the other two are part of the same argument.

It's not morally right to kill an animal for the sake of lust (not survival).

  • 12.24.2010 6:49 PM PDT

ONCE AGAIN I SAY. I EAT MEAT INSTEAD OF PLANTS BECAUSE EATING PLANTS IT MORALLY WRONG TO ME! THEY COULD HAVE FEELINGS! I HOLD THEM MORE SACRED THAN ANIMALS BECAUSE THEY PRODUCE MY OXYGEN. WHY TAKE LIFE FROM THAT WHICH GIVES IT TOO ME!?!?

I kill them because if I don't eat, I die. There is no lust there, the taste of the meat is an added bonus.

No, you don't die.
Yep, we all eat for fun. Nobody in the history of ever has actually had to eat to survive, we've all been misguided for our entire species existence.

If the following has ever happened to you on the flood: been butthurt, offended, angry from someone's post, feel like Nerd Raging . . . you have the right to SHUT UP

Also, if you play Reach this is YOU

people who say I should stop eating meat I say F U.

people who deprive themselves from eating meat I feel sorry for you but w/e that's your choice so how about get off our back for eating meat.

Meat is good. Eat it or stop complaining about others eating it. It's not murder, get over it.

I'd like to be half-man half-tree in an octopus' garden in the shade.

As humans, our goal is to keep humanity alive. Food keeps people alive. Animals are food.

I see nothing wrong with eating animals. I also see nothing wrong with some alien race coming to Earth, becoming the dominant species, and eating us all. It's simply survival of the fittest. You can call it barbaric, and call it morally wrong, but it's simply nature at work.

PETA doesn't understand the fact that animals kill animals for food, and we are animals.

Check back through the thread, I was the first to say that. It was to illustrate my point that because we were so good at killing doesn't mean we have to (to counter an, "We can eat it, so we should it" argument)

I wasn't intending to disagree with you. I am not even taking a side. Stop trying to be so smart. I simplified it in it's crudest form. Nothing more.

I know that a vegetarian diet is the healthiest way to go, and the more efficient way as well. One day this planet will be so full of humans we WILL have to switch to a vegetarian diet with only the most wealthiest of us being able to have meat in their diet.

Again. I'm telling you to stop caring. Because you can't convince men to switch their diet. Unless they are weak-minded. Or have compassion. I'm not either.

Also you're wrong about it being pointless if everyone thought that way because no good would come of things. I for one won't do bad things all my life 24/7 because bad things in the grand-scheme are as meaningless as good natured things. Thus I just do what's easier. As in if it's bad, and easy I will do it. If it's good natured, and the easy way I will do this as well. That's just natural, but most people choose to have a high sense of morality like you.
