Look, you not eating that animal means it died for nothing, the least you could do for it is eat it. People will still kill it anyways, no matter what you think

"Do you not know that the runners in the stadium all run in the race, but only one wins the prize? Run so as to win. Every athlete exercises discipline in every way. They do it to win a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one. Thus, I do not run aimlessly; I do not fight as if I were shadowboxing. No, I drive my body and train it, for fear that, after having preached to others, I myself should be disqualified." -1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Meat contains protein, which maintains healthy muscle function. Meat is also very delicious.

The komoto dragon kills its prey by biting his victoms in a exposed area. After he bites his prey, the sylvia on his mouth seeps into the wound and injects poision into its blood vessels. The victioms internal organs will slwoly shut down and die over a course of two days. While those two days the komoto dragon stalks his prey until it falls down. Once the animal can no longer move or defend itself the komoto dragon eats its prey alive. Eating meat is completly naturall. In fact we actually do the animals a favor by killing them fast and painless unlike the komoto dragon. Grow up and stop listing everything PETA tells you.

Meat/animals provides us with the necessary protein and fat we need in our bodies. You don't get a whole lot of protein from eating a leaf.

...and yet you do from a variety of other non meat sources. Seriously, if you knew anything about food you would know that meat isn't the only thing that has protein. And vegetarians don't just eat "leafs"... Jesus Christ.

  • 12.25.2010 2:18 PM PDT

Our bodies are designed to eat meat. There's your justification nub.

A death for no reason
And death for no reason is MURDER

No it isn't. They died for the same reason the bear eats fish, The wolf eats the rabbit, or the whale eats the plankton. Nourishment. Animals provide nourishment, and as omnivores, we eat animals as well.

Posted by: XII CIUTCH IIX
As Morrissey once said: "nobody can come up with a good argument for eating animals - nobody can. People as some kind of a joke say, well, 'It's tasty', but it's only tasty once you garnish it and you put salt and pepper, and you cook it, and you have to do 300 things to it to disguise its true taste. If you put garnishes on a chair or fabric, it would probably taste quite nice."

People love the taste of raw meat, that's why menus let you order rare, and trust me, people do. Animals also provide protein in large amounts, which is important for the human body.

Animals who die for your dinner table die alone, in terror, in sadness and in pain. The killing is merciless and inhumane.

That's the natural condition, any other prey victim to its predator suffers the same fate. We only continue to live how we've been instructed by God, or nature, or however the hell we've developed our instincts.

Posted by: XII CIUTCH IIX
There is absolutely no reason why we should eat meat from an evolutionary or 'natural' perspective either. Our bodies are not designed to.

Yes they are. Again, we're omnivores, we eat both plants and animals. Our teeth are mostly flat, for the crushing of plant material, but we do have sharp teeth for tearing muscle fibers. Our bodies were designed to consume both plant and animal, and especially to hunt. No other animal has the proficiency of using thumbs besides monkeys. We simply use our brains to turn that use with tools, which makes the human the ultimate predator on this planet. We're not only designed to eat meat, we're practically made for it.

Stop being a puss and eat a goddamn steak.

We kill them fast and painlessly.
Ummmmm...NO. Animals in the meat industry are treated savagely until the day of slaughter which sometimes can be extremely painful for the animal. What we need to do is stop eating so much meat. You don't want to completely remove it from your diet as our bodies need meat. If Americans didn't feel like they needed half out their plate covered in meat and a small portion in veggies things wouldn't be so bad on the animals.
I agree that the treatment of animals in slaughterhouses is sometimes inhumane, but that doesn't mean we should stop eating meat. I think what he meant was the death of the animal is painless, which it is, all they do is hang them up and slit their throat.

Watch the video.

I didn't want to link it, but I think people just didn't understand what is done to the animals.

ive known about this for years yah its brutal but thats life and why is this thread still up?

Meat is a more reliable, for lack of a better word, protein source than anything else. Don't bring in that "dairy" bull, you morality types don't eat meat because it's "immoral", yet, eating dairy is Much more immoral.

I don't disagree that meat is the easiest source of protein. All I'm doing is refuting all of the ignorant posts that people are making.

Wow. There isn't much I can add to this thread when I'm just coming into it. All main points have been said. Personally, I eat meat, but I respect the decision not to eat meat and wish that others on this site could accept that natural fact.

This post just infuriated me, though:

Meat-eaters: have claws
Herbivores: no claws
Humans: no claws

Meat-eaters: have no skin pores and perspire through the tongue
Herbivores: perspire through skin pores
Humans: perspire through skin pores

Meat-eaters: have sharp front teeth for tearing, with no flat molar teeth for grinding
Herbivores: no sharp front teeth, but flat rear molars for grinding
Humans: no sharp front teeth, but flat rear molars for grinding

Meat-eaters: have intestinal tract that is only 3 times their body length so that rapidly decaying meat can pass through quickly
Herbivores: have intestinal tract 10-12 times their body length.
Humans: have intestinal tract 10-12 times their body length.

Meat-eaters: have strong hydrochloric acid in stomach to digest meat
Herbivores: have stomach acid that is 20 times weaker than that of a meat-eater
Humans: have stomach acid that is 20 times weaker than that of a meat-eater

Meat-eaters: salivary glands in mouth not needed to pre-digest grains and fruits.
Herbivores: well-developed salivary glands which are necessary to pre-digest grains and fruits
Humans: well-developed salivary glands, which are necessary to pre-digest, grains and fruits

Meat-eaters: have acid saliva with no enzyme ptyalin to pre-digest grains
Herbivores: have alkaline saliva with ptyalin to pre-digest grains
Humans: have alkaline saliva with ptyalin to pre-digest grains
Based on a chart by A.D. Andrews, Fit Food for Men, (Chicago: American Hygiene Society, 1970)

This is 90% bull-blam!-, except for the claws and the sweat glands. Human stomach acid is hydrochloric. The digestive tract is 20 ft. long, which isn't 10-20 times the height of a human, more like 3. Many animals, including carnivose, have amalayse (ptylin) in their saliva. No sharp front teeth? What the hell do you call incisors and canines? Source (branching). My anatomy book was also very useful for this.

If you're going to pretend to have scientific evidence to back up your claims, use actual scientific evidence.

1-7 hours if you at least tried to make it readable.

Immediately if you are Yax, Telec, or legendary.

Never if you are mythic, you guys smell funny.

so, we can't eat meat because the animal is killed in a brutal fashion?

let's see, my dad is a butcher, we eat free range meat, the animal mature's in a large, open enviroment, lots of running space, plenty of decent food and a generally happy life.

the animal is killed quickly, bolt gun to the head, no pain, over quick.

while a lion, will cut open the throat of its prey, and will begin to consume it while its still alive, and it will slowly die of bloodloss while having its flesh ripped from it.

yeah, and im a monster.

typical vegan rubbish, most vegans i talk too have terrible views on the meat industry, and have been mind controlled by all those american video's of meat house's, where i admit, they are killed horribly, but here in britain, that is generally not the case.

Don't give me that "everyone is different" rubbish.

But everyone is different. For example, you're clearly insane while I am not.

I don't think we should be worrying about animals rights before we learn to treat other humans humanely.

Humans are evil, animals aren't. Nobody can deny that, look at the stuff we do to each other.

Yet of course, someone will say, "It's just an opinion, it's subjective that humans do bad things"

No it is, because you'll find that eating meat is evil, when you consider what is done to it before hand, just to get it on your plate.

I love people like this. They think killing an animal is equal to killing another human.

You don't have a problem with eating meat, you have a problem dealing with death.

Do you eat eggs? Anything with egg products in it? If so, you're a massive hypocrite. Forget killing animals and ending their lives. By eating eggs you're denying millions of creatures the chance to exist.

Pure evil never tasted so good.
