I do not fear death, in view of the fact that I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it. ~ Mark Twain

I love people like this. They think killing an animal is equal to killing another human.

You don't have a problem with eating meat, you have a problem dealing with death.

So wrong bro. I would rather kill an animal than a human, but to be honest, humans deserve to be wiped out more than any other animal.

Humans are by far the worst animals.

Couldn't agree with you more. We are evil. Pure evil. Even you vegans. Evil. The lot of you. Why are you killing those innocent plants? How many quadrillions of micro-organisms have had to die to provide you with your staple foods to replace the single cow you could have eaten?

YOU ARE SO CRUEL!

I've realised that I've been expelled from my mother's uterus as if being shot from a canon, towards a barn door covered in rusty hooks and old nail files. It's a matter of how you use the intervening time in an intelligent and ironic way, and try not to do anything dastardly to your fellow creatures.

Dear god this thread is still alive?

There are so many people who have said this, but it's been shown that it's not needed for survival anymore.

It just shows everyones level of ignorance.

You all lie to yourselves that what you are doing is OK, but if anyone will watch the video I linked, and see what they do to those animals, you wouldn't be able to lie to me and to yourself that eating meat is ok, when it's not purely survival.

Lol, no it doesn't. You can't just choose to murder other humans, so why should it be allowed for animals.

Because those other animals exist right now for us to eat them. People have said in this thread that when animals do something that shows that they are a valuable part of society then humans will most likely stop eating them. Look at horses. Many people in America would be disgusted to eat a horse. Horses have had a use in society for more then their meat.

How could you live your life thinking you're a scourge? That is a very narrow and negative perspective.

There is absolutely no reason why we should eat meat from an evolutionary or 'natural' perspective either. Our bodies are not designed to.

Uhh, evolution says otherwise.

I think humans as a whole are. And honestly, this thread has proved it to me. Do I think I'm better? No, not in many ways, but at least I try, rather than accept.

Animals will eat animals with less mercy than humans will. A lion ripping apart a gazelle is grosser than an instantaneous death via a slaughterhouse.

Because they aren't productive members of society. Because killing animals that were raised for slaughter dosen't put stress on families and communities.

It's great that you have your own opinions. It's great that you want to share your opinionjs. But the problem starts when people start acting like their personal decisions somehow make them better than everyone else.

Agreed, We are omnivors but we have the classic face trait of carnivors, Forward facing eyes instead of on the side like Herbivors. Meat may not be completly neccesary to survival, but it is very helpful and very little may help a lot more nutrionly than a bunch of plants.

I suspect you have a lot more fueling that opinion than just eating meat and killing animals.

I don't believe the human race is a scourge, there are simply small factions or breeds that are an infection trying to bring us down. I would elaborate some more but we are getting way off topic.

If a lion attacked you would you kill it out of defence?

(and your trapped you cant run)

We've all agreed that it's not about survival. We don't eat meat nowadays out of survival (whether that's natural or not, science is allowing it).

You have not answred my question

Oh sorry, I forgot. What was the question?

Yes, because survival is different to enjoyment.

I know it is, but WOULD you kill if you had to? say you where on a safarie in Africa and you got sepparated and a lion attacked. Would you kill it to let your self live?

No, far from it.

Animals eat other animals without a thought, because they don't even understand death. Since we are knowledgeable, we should know better. "With power comes responsibility".

And what we subject animals too is much much much worse.

It's beliefs like yours (that cows and pigs and chickens just die instantaneously) that are ignorant and stupid. And everyone who eats meat seems to believe it, or they want to believe it and lie to themselves.

That's actually a perfect example of someone being the "fittest" (from an evolutionary standpoint, anyway).
