You cannot possibly expect everyone to be good?

A few bad apples dooms the whole race?

Not everyone commits murders and great atrocities in day to day life, although a nation of average men were capable of trying to wipe out an entire race, because they were told to, showing that men as a species suffers from what I am saying. But all suffer from greed and lust, at all times.

Tell me you don't desire money to buy a nice car/house etc?

You can't do it, and very few people can. I do too, I won't lie.
It doesn't mean I am a scourge, or a monster.

You eat animals for lust don't you? You'd kill and torture animals, just to satiate your own desires? And you can't pretend to be ignorant on the matter anymore, not that you know, there is no excuses.

I'm bored of this thread now. This is my last post here. You're all arguing over pointless things. People have opinions. People have views. For example, I struggle to understand how people can believe in an invisible floating thing which watches us from afar, judging our every action. I enjoy eating meat, and yes, my Christmas dinner today was delicious. In the end, it really doesn't matter. Life goes on. Life ends. Just leave it at that and accept that things aren't always going to go your way. Just because you think it's wrong, it doesn't make it wrong. In the grand scheme of things, as a result of all of this chain of chance events, we are where we are. We can't change our past, no matter how hard we try. Our future is in our hands, sure, but it's not going to make a difference whether we kill a few cows or not. Sooner or later, the Sun will burn out, and anything left on this planet will freeze to death, or suffocate.

We all die. All of us. Even the animals we live alongside. Everything ends. Just get on with it while you can, and don't spend your life moaning.

Merry Christmas.

I think humans as a whole are. And honestly, this thread has proved it to me. Do I think I'm better? No, not in many ways, but at least I try, rather than accept.
I suspect you have a lot more fueling that opinion than just eating meat and killing animals.

I don't believe the human race is a scourge, there are simply small factions or breeds that are an infection trying to bring us down. I would elaborate some more but we are getting way off topic.

Merely the powers of observation.

Humans are driven by a lust for power and money and just pure greed.

They commit acts of pure evil (child abductions etc) and it is becoming almost commonplace. They start wars for oil, killing thousands and millions.

A whole nation of ordinary people banded together and willingly slaughtered the Jews. I would rather take my own life than commit such an atrocity. And if I was to justify it by saying I'd be killed otherwise, it doesn't make it any less evil.

And the treatment of animals is another great factor. We aren't simply following instinct and such like by killing them and eating them to sustain ourselves. No we are doing it out of greed and lust. We want to have chicken burgers and double bacon, when it's killing us. It's killing the American nation, due to your own greed, and best of all, you are all so blinded with greed that you refuse to admit how evil it is.

Stop watching the news so damned much. Your personality is both a genetic trait and one picked up through your enviorment. Their are two extremes the great people who try to help others and thoose who kill/hurt/abduct others. Than their is the majority who are content to live their lives peacefuly. Theese extremes are generaly picked up by genetics.

Greed, power, and the such is what some people have their are many people who will give even when they have nothing left. In the book Baa Baa Black Sheep, when he is a prisoner of war in Japan and the Japanese are being bombed, thoose who have had their houses destroyed and have almost nothing left gave what little food they had to the prisoners and they had a risk of being beaten mercilessly by the gaurds of the prisoners. This trait is actauly common but does not get a big chance to make itself visible as it is usauly a mail in thing nowadays.

Maybe you should start watching.

You're telling me to ignore what is happening.

And in your story, there were still men who were going to mercilessly beat the PoW's.

You failed to grasp my point.
The news only reports what will get them the most views which is usauly a tragedy. Murder is alot less common than it used to be...
That is the other extreme thoose who are considered to be cruel are generaly but their are still thoose are good and the majority in the middle ground who will try to help themselves and help others if they cannot. We are not all evil money seeking neerdowells. Personaly I want enough money to live a nice comfterable life I dont care about how big my house is or how nice my car is...
Humans have been kind to other animals btw...
Killing Deer can be a good thing at times, If the Deer are over crowded and they have a Really horrible disease (i cant remember the name atm) than the DNR will try to get hunters to kill them all rather than suffer from the Chronic Wasting Disease (i think mabye?) would you rather die about instantly or suffer for weeks and die of lack of food/water and disease. I would much rather be shot... and btw Nerves continue to work after you die for a long time... You ever flaied a fish? You do it several hours after they have been taken from the water and are sometimes dead by the time you get to that but yet if you stab a nerve they will start to twitch.

  • 12.25.2010 5:12 PM PDT

Nobody ever provides a counter argument for my posts. BTW, if Humans weren't meant to eat meat, then our bodies would literally not be able to digest it.

As Morrissey once said: "nobody can come up with a good argument for eating animals - nobody can.

I didn't climb to the top of the food chain to eat shrubs.

I could stop there but I won't.

People as some kind of a joke say, well, 'It's tasty', but it's only tasty once you garnish it and you put salt and pepper, and you cook it, and you have to do 300 things to it to disguise its true taste.
Actually my mom just puts salt and onions on meat and it taste great. Without that stuff it doesn't taste like anything.

If you put garnishes on a chair or fabric, it would probably taste quite nice."
No, it wouldn't. Unless it's leather ;)

Animals who die for your dinner table die alone, in terror, in sadness and in pain. The killing is merciless and inhumane.
Everyone dies alone. Nobody can be your but buddy into the void.

Cow meat that is kosher comes from a cow that had its throat slit. The most painless way to die. Now if only every slaughter house was like that...

There is absolutely no reason why we should eat meat from an evolutionary or 'natural' perspective either. Our bodies are not designed to.
Really? I suppose that's why cavemen didn't hunt right? I also suppose that's why muscle isn't built off of proteins which meat doesn't happen to have in large amounts? I also suppose it wasn't this protein and nutrition that allowed Humans to develop larger brains.

Besides, no matter how much rabbit food I eat, I'm never full. I just keep eating, and I'm never satisfied. However nothing makes me feel better than a nice hot plate of chicken, or beef. Mmmmmm.
Just, how do I stop, I suppose you could say I'm addicted.
You don't stop. You just eat, and enjoy it. Everything is going to die at some point, it might as well benefit the planet in someway.

-Plants provide oxygen that we breath, and fruit.

-Animals provide companions (dogs), and food.

-Humans (whom are animals BTW), sadly don't really have a benefit, other than to continue our corrupt, superficial, economic systems. Although The man who allows us to colonize other planets and escape into other universes will have the greatest meaning to his life.

There is no reason NOT to eat meat. Get over yourself.

I retract my statement about that being my last post.

Ever heard of sarcasm? I know we've killed billions of defenseless animals, but guess what? I don't care. Life goes on. The world keeps on spinning. I'm not one who would willingly kill a defenseless animal, but when I don't have to think about how I got the meat on my plate, it doesn't matter to me. In fact, I hate the sight of raw meat. It makes me feel uneasy. Yet, I love to eat it when it's cooked. It doesn't resemble a cow at all, so I'm happy to eat it. My eyes tell me it's a bit of brown. My nose tells me it smells good. My mind tells me it's OK to eat it, so guess what? I do.

If you've really got a problem with people killing animals, then by all means feel free to sod off to another planet and live off grass. Just don't expect anyone else to care.

Our UNIVERSE will come to an end what will matter if everything is dead or not.... The sun will basicaly blow up destroying earth eventaully so you just plain fail.

  • 12.25.2010 5:16 PM PDT

I'm sure this has been stated before, However i'm not reading every #$#$ page on this thing.

First off Meat is important, It's what boosted our brain growth back in our earlier days, Making us more intelgent [etc]

Second off stop acting like your not an Animal, Humans, Regardless of how smart and powerful we may be are still Animals who are bound by natural law. The only reason people can complain about eating meat is because we have higher brain function, However it doesn't make you right, Because it works both ways. DEAL..WITH..IT

Third off to not eat Meat is a personal choice. Which is up to the person themselves. However telling people to stop doing it is, dick.

Also Here's a little fact.

The population of Chickens,Cows, and Pigs [plus other animals we eat] Have a higher population then Tigers, Wolves, Bears [things we don't eat]. I bet you that if we stopped eating those Chix, Cows and Piggies they would probably die off themselves. again..DEAL...WITH...IT

And lastly I'll point out that it's a personal choice and really theres no right or wrong answer to anything. People eat meat, Animals eat Meat. If you wan't to stop eating Meat then fine, Not going to stop the world however Don't try to act like your a higher being, You'r not

Animals will eat animals with less mercy than humans will. A lion ripping apart a gazelle is grosser than an instantaneous death via a slaughterhouse.

No, far from it.

Animals eat other animals without a thought, because they don't even understand death. Since we are knowledgeable, we should know better. "With power comes responsibility".

And what we subject animals too is much much much worse.

It's beliefs like yours (that cows and pigs and chickens just die instantaneously) that are ignorant and stupid. And everyone who eats meat seems to believe it, or they want to believe it and lie to themselves.

QFT chicken tastes like crap, I don't eat it. And there's no easy way to kill them. Mammals die by decapitation instantly.

There was a test during the French Revolution (or some French war) where they asked people who were being decapitated to blink after they were beheaded. The participants blinked for roughly 30 seconds after they were beheaded. I don't have a source, but a google search would probably find something.

And you show your ignorance on the matter when you assume they just get decapitated and that's that. Watch the video I posted.

You can't feel anything if you get decapitated, and I don't believe you can be able to control yourself either. Blinking could just be a nervous muscle.

What about the -blam!- plants you damn vegetarians eat? Did you forget they were alive too or what? Just because it doesn't scream when you plucking it from the ground doesn't mean you're not killing it.

Look at nature. You see how balanced everything is? Everything is set on top of everything else so it all works out. Now comes a retard who is going to step up and claim that nature is flawed and THEY, in their 'ultimate wisdom' know a better way for nature to work. He's a vegetarian.

You got to be some kind of arrogant pinhead to think that NATURE doesn't know what the hell it's doing and mr 9-5 day-job here is going to fix it all.

Vegetarians are a bunch of hypocrites who run around demanding that everyone respects nature and at the same time stick their noses up at the food nature has provided them.

You don't have the balls to accept the fact that you need to kill to survive so you conveniently forget that pants are alive and call it 'death free' living so you can satisfy yourself that you're better than the rest of us 'murderers'.

If you want to live, you're going to have to kill something else. DEAL WITH IT.

Killing a plant is no different than killing an animal, because it's still taking life.

Sometimes plants can live for WEEKS after being taken out of the ground so chances are you're eating plants while they are still alive. I hope you remember that the next time you shove your mouth full of salad.

Just, how do I stop, I suppose you could say I'm addicted.

Our bodies are naturally evolved to eat both plants and meat. Scientific fact. If we were not designed to eat meat, we would get violently ill from eating it. Original humans could it it raw, and had strong immune systems to survive it. Since we've advanced to the point where we can afford the time needed to cook food, we no longer have that immune system. But, we are still physically meant to eat meat. I see no moral dilemma to eating it. It's terrible that our lives are so easy now that holier-than-thou morons can protest the eating of animals. Nobody did that back when humans had to work for their food.
