On Christmas Eve there was an opossum scurrying around.

I got a 20 gauge and shot it? Why you ask? Because they poop on my grandparent's driveway and eat all their cat food.

And before most of you wonder, we did not eat it, because we shot it with a shotgun from ten feet away and opossums taste like crap.

May he rest in pieces.

I don't think this is a PETA thread, just a meat eating thread. Kill a bear if you need to, trap a mouse, etc.

Who traps a mouse for food?

Starving people in the woods. But you missed my point.

I wonder why people just don't think about animals' lives and are only concerned about their own enjoyment...

Animals aren't capable of meta cognition. They don't know they're happy, they don't know they're sad, they don't know they'd rather be in an open field. Everything they do is instinctual, thus without thought.

I don't think I'm being greedy, selfish, or uncaring. You obviously do. We all have opinions. I can't stop you from thinking the way you think; you can't stop me from thinking the way I think, and again, nobody can stop me from eating, and enjoying, meat.

My future father-in-law fried some turkey yesterday. It was amazing.

When we're talking about innocent animals lives, the fact that they are simply not always treated as they should be, how livestock release greenhouse gas, and how there would not be a single child starving today if most people were vegetarian, it's simply offensive and frankly annoying to say something as ignorant as 'what other justification could I possibly need for eating meat other than it tasting good and me enjoying it' to a vegetarian.

lololololololololololol everyone wants the thread dead

If most people were vegetarian the number of people starving would increase because they wouldn't be eating all the meat. Cutting food supply in half does not decrease starvation.

On the contrary, in the UK alone we feed livestock enough food to feed 250,000,000 people, while only 30,000,000 people in the entire world die of starvation every year. And guess where we get most of the grain that we feed livestock with? Mostly, third world countries.

They feed livestock grain that's not fit for human consumption.

Correct. But crops to feed humans could be made just as easily with the same soil if people wanted it.

Hahaha, that completely covers the argument that we need it to feed starving people!

Well said bro.

Besides, does it even matter if some vegetarian get's offended? I thought you were saving the animals, not your feelings?

Yes,, they feel pain for about 2 seconds after they get their throats cut, then pass out and die. Its not as if we're dragging them by their utters across a rocky plain at 35 mph. We give them a quick death.

Back on the subject of Humans not meant to be eating meat.....

We humans have sharp teeth in the front of our mouths for cutting through meat. It makes it easy to eat and swallow. Our bodies can digest the meat and we can gain nutritional value.

Humans also have one more trait that traces back to carnivores. Our eyes. Our eyes are facing forward like a wolf or a lion. All carnivores have there eyes facing forward to hunt. Herbivores have there eyes on the sides of their skulls so they may watch out for hunting carnivores stalking up behind them. We most likely evolved from a carnivorous species long ago.

That is why it is natural for us to eat meat. No matter how advanced we get, we will always have instincts.
