Never been afraid to say what's on my mind at any given time a day.

If you can't justify it then don't eat meat. I'll keep on eating it.

I have never once in my life seen a valid argument for why we should not eat meat. Why we shouldn't eat factory farmed meat that's stuffed with corn and GMOs? Sure. However, there is no good reason to not eat meat at all. Give me one and I'll sacrifice myself so that an animal and its family can have a meal.

Aside from others (such as killing an animal for the taste) the fact that meat causes diseases is one good argument.

You don't have to sacrifice yourself.

So to shorten this up, Jun is master chef.

By nature we're omnivores, I'd just make sure you're not eating mass produced meat foods. That's where the problem lies.
Exactly my sentiment. However, that's strictly a personal decision. The local food market ideal is not a realistic system to feed the world with.

As it is offensive and annoying for a vegetarian to say that to a crowd of omnivorous, so neither here nor there is anything justified other than personal life style choices.

Posted by: G O R E25
it's simply offensive and frankly annoying to say something as ignorant as 'what other justification could I possibly need for eating meat other than it tasting good and me enjoying it' to a vegetarian.

You know what he means. And it's true.

You wouldn't like me killing your mother and just saying it was because I like killing, even if it's just a personal life choice of mine?

I woudn't like it, but I coudn't care less for what happens to an animal. Why? I'm a human, deal with it.

Eating meat, eating veggies, murder.

One of these things is not like the other. One of these things does not belong.

What is murder?

He's saying he kills and eats meat because he enjoys it.

I kill your mother because I enjoy it.

You see how the second statement is obviously immoral and wrong, well so is the first statement.

What are animals but walking plants? They don't think like we do. They don't have emotions (at least chickens and cows don't).

They are literally moving plants.

There is no difference.

I've linked a video earlier showing how cruel we are and what we do to them. [/quote]
I'm not looking through 66 pages, just relink the video.

If slaughterhouses had glass walls, we'd all be vegetarians

WARNING: Extremely graphic.

I don't think that the guys have a 90% kill rate of the animals they rescue is the best source to use in this debate. PETA has a tendancy to film only the worst case scenarios (which i tend to doubt all of it is real and not staged.) and uses it to attack the industry as a whole.

As for my personal stance on the issue. I eat both meat and veggies. I understand that a lot of people tend to prefer being only vegetarians or only carnivores, but they have no right to dictate whether anybody else's diet is right or wrong.

Personal decisions are fun. What's even more fun is not caring about others' when they don't affect me.

Birds are social animals by nature, and chickens are no exception. Cows are very social animals as well, they are not moving plants...

Your mother is a cow?

Dude, killing someones mom, a human being, is much worse than killing a cow, an animal.

Animals aren't people. They don't have meta-cognitive thought.

Hm, interesting how Clutch is talking about meat causing diseases. Is that not evidence that he is merely trying to find any way to say eating meat is bad so he can feel better than others, as opposed to proving that vegetarianism is the correct moral choice?

No, that's the opposite of what I'm saying. Murder is wrong because the law says it is. Eating animals is only "wrong" to you because you think so, but again, that won't stop me from eating meat. :)

Also, word on the street is that Yoozel is an amazing chef. He knows how to prepare good foodz and I'm willing to bet the best stuff in his bag of tricks has meat involved.
