I have never once in my life seen a valid argument for why we should not eat meat. Why we shouldn't eat factory farmed meat that's stuffed with corn and GMOs? Sure. However, there is no good reason to not eat meat at all. Give me one and I'll sacrifice myself so that an animal and its family can have a meal.

Aside from others (such as killing an animal for the taste) the fact that meat causes diseases is one good argument.

You don't have to sacrifice yourself.
And vegetables can't? Besides, cooking food kills off most things that are harmful.

My proof

As far as I can tell, this is simply saying that animal protein raises the risk of some things that vegetable protein lowers the risk of. Well, all I can say is that a balanced diet is healthy. Meat has its dietary advantages that cannot be filled by vegetables. If you eat as much meat as you do veggies, you should be all set.

So what it's a human? It's my choice to do it and it's my personal decision, you can't stop me.

It would greatly offend you if I bragged about killing your mother, so how can you not see how it would offend vegetarians? Because YOU don't care?

Hm, interesting how Clutch is talking about meat causing diseases. Is that not evidence that he is merely trying to find any way to say eating meat is bad so he can feel better than others, as opposed to proving that vegetarianism is the correct moral choice?

Something like that, but meat probably has more diseases than veggies for a couple of reasons. Farming conditions, diet, contamination, and diseases to the animals themselves from outside sources.

According to you opinion both wrong.

According to law one is wrong.

There's a big difference, but you keep fightin' the good fight, and I'll enjoy some leftovers from last night's Christmas dinner. :)

So you're saying that because one is law, it's ok?

No, that's the opposite of what I'm saying. Murder is wrong because the law says it is. Eating animals is only "wrong" to you because you think so, but again, that won't stop me from eating meat. :)

Also, word on the street is that Yoozel is an amazing chef. He knows how to prepare good foodz and I'm willing to bet the best stuff in his bag of tricks has meat involved.

you gotta send me some samples.

Thing is, if someone thinks small a risk of disease is worth it for eating food that they like, it does not affect Clutch in any way, which is evidence he just wants to attack non-vegetarians in any way he can.

NO you can't say a balanced diet (with meat) is healthy, this proves it wrong. Very very wrong.

Pretty much, but eating a large amount of meat, fish, and consumption of alcohol does increase your risk of getting gout. My father is proof of this, every day he eats a meat for dinner, breakfast, and lunch. He gets gout at least 5 times a year.

As it is offensive and annoying for a vegetarian to say that to a crowd of omnivorous, so neither here nor there is anything justified other than personal life style choices.

Posted by: G O R E25
it's simply offensive and frankly annoying to say something as ignorant as 'what other justification could I possibly need for eating meat other than it tasting good and me enjoying it' to a vegetarian.

You know what he means. And it's true.

You wouldn't like me killing your mother and just saying it was because I like killing, even if it's just a personal life choice of mine?

I woudn't like it, but I coudn't care less for what happens to an animal. Why? I'm a human and we're better than animals, deal with it if you don't like it.

No, just no.

My argument is that it's wrong to eat meat. People have told me that it's ok to eat meat, because we do it for our health and survival.

I have countered their counter-argument. I'm not mindlessly attacking meat eating.

B12.

Explain.

Vitamin B12 is essential for life, without it you can't make blood, repair nerves, or effectively replicate DNA.

Our bodies can't make B12, and the only source of B12 is in animal protein. Even the B12 found in supplements is harvested from animal sources.

Dude, killing someones mom, a human being, is much worse than killing a cow, an animal.

Animals aren't people. They don't have meta-cognitive thought.

Yes it is much worse, but it doesn't change the fact that it's bad. And they have feelings, they feel pain, that's all that matters.

I'm not a butthurt, but animals can be on the same level as human beings. If I had the choice to use 1 of 2 creatures as bait for a larger crazed animal eating boar... I'd choose you over my cat.

I said meat is immoral so you shouldn't eat it.

They said you have to eat it, it's good for you, you need to eat it.

I linked evidence that meat is bad for you, therefore not good for you, effectively countering their argument

Is that ok?
