And now you are judging animals? WHy don't you answer why we have CANINE teeth?

Why do we still have tailbones?
Why do human males have nipples?

Exactly.

Exactly what?

The way I see it eating cooked meat works fine for us and gives us nutrients. What is wrong with it? I don't care about the emotional aspect of it, billions of living things have died over the cycle of the Earth, it really doesn't phase me.

Killing, eating and cooking animals is just an easy way to keep humans going. Besides, if we're going by what is "natural" then surely it's totally unnatural to have giant fields dedicated to harvesting a single crop.

The tailbone is the remnant of primate tails, obviously. It also serves as an important unit of attachment for various nerves and tendons. Males have nipples because the female body is the default "template" for all humans.

I really don't see what you're trying to get at with all these analogies.

Stop being a coward and explain how my cat doesn't know any better.

You are telling me that your cat, has a grasp of the concept of morality?

No, but it has been proven that cats mostly kill for the hell of it and not out of instinct or for survival.

The best human analogy I can think of is a serial killer.

Answered that and so did another poster. Tailbone, vestigial piece that decreased its size for thousands of years til now, and a mount for muscles in the area

Male nipples, nipples are formed in the womb BEFORE gender is decided.

The appendix? There are other examples.

The proof, is how impractical it is to eat raw meat (like all carnivores). You really struggle to chew that meat, which suggests you are not naturally designed to eat meat anymore.

Impractical to eat raw meat? Go try doing what sheep and cows are doing all day, every day and graze on plain grass for a week. Vegetation is tough as nails to digest and has little to no nutrition.

I wouldn't say I'd like it, but he's probably following insticts. He doesn't know any better.
Sure he does. He tortures them. He does it for fun, he has his own reasons for it. Of course he knows better.

And he's told you this himself?

Isn't a cat a thinking, feeling individual? Can't it get enjoyment from following its instincts and tracking, capturing and killing prey? Or should it just want to cuddle and purr?

My dogs shake their toys the same way that they would shake a rabbit or a squirrel (in order to break its neck). I think that I know them well enough to understand that they are "having fun" when they shake either a toy or a prey animal.

But he doesn't know any better.

As a matter of fact, they do know better. Dogs are primarally predators, so they need to know how to eliminate any resistance from its prey. That means breaking bones, to pinching nerves, and even crushing skulls. It's their nature to know how to kill their prey.

There is absolutely no reason why we should eat meat from an evolutionary or 'natural' perspective either. Our bodies are not designed to.

Just, how do I stop, I suppose you could say I'm addicted.

Crazy how a humans teeth are actually designed to eat meat and plants. Interesting isn't it. Why would our bodies develop a way to efficiently eat something if we aren't designed to eat it.

It's far from efficient.

How is it? considering we have been doing it for thousands of years? And, people barely had teeth after the age or twelve before the 19th century. So himans before us had a far worse time eating meat, yet they still did. My point being. it is not about efficiency.

Ever try and eat meat without teeth?

You can't; therefore, they are efficient.

i beilieve he is trying to prove that our I teethe are meant to be useless, just how a tail bone is supposedly useless and how nipples don't need to exist, although he is failing because both parts of human anatomy are essential... just like I teeth.

No, but it has been proven that cats don't kill most of their prey for food or out of instinct.

Firstly, evidence. Secondly, if they're not killing for food or due to instinct then I imagine they're killing either for training or to keep numbers down. If it's for training then that's logical. If it's to keep numbers down, again that's logical.

Take emotions out of this and it's quite simply illogical to avoid meat intentionally.

My view:

First thing that I would like to say is that I hate it when people think humans are interfering with nature or what humans do is 'unnatural'. We are in fact part of nature, to be clear, everything is part of natural, that is, nothing exists outside of nature. For something to be unnatural (i.e. exist outside of nature) it would have to not exist.

Humans are also in fact animals, just because we are more intelligent (although I use that word lightly since you can't necessarily quantify or objectively measure intelligence, aside from the point) than most animals on this planet doesn't make us animals any less. Some animals are omnivores, carnivores, herbivores etc. Humans just happen to be omnivores, the fact that we eat meat isn't any more adverse than the fact that lions eat gazelle. Although I do not condone the mistreatment of animals regardless of whether we decide to eat them or not.

The fact of the matter is that pre-humans in the past had to kill and hunt animals in less than 'humane' ways, now through evolution humans are still omnivores but we can also use the intelligence gained through it to eat animals in more 'humane' ways.

Agreed, people need to understand the fact that one animal eating another is simply the cycle of life.

Humans are very capable killers, we are designed to kill, so well in fact that killing is what makes us the apex predator of the world, not because we are hard to kill (we are rather easy), so why is it that it is harshly frowned upon to kill another human being? Because it is universally known that it is morally wrong.

Just because we can kill animals, doesn't mean it's right to do so.

Taken from the appendix Wiki. "One potential ancestral purpose put forth by Charles Darwin[4] was that the appendix was used for digesting leaves as primates. It may be a vestigial organ, evolutionary baggage, of ancient humans that has degraded down to nearly nothing over the course of evolution. Evidence can be seen in herbivorous animals such as the koala."

So the appendix is a vestigial organ because it digests PLANTS!

WHy get rid of an organ for digesting PLANTS, if we were meant to eat PLANTS like you so haughtily suggest?

I swear the vegetarians in this thread have weak arguments and have accomplished nothing. Every time they create an argument it gets pummeled by a bunch of users and shows how well they clearly have no idea what they are talking about.

Can we just lock this? I swear these vegetarians are giving me the impression they are all this stupid and ignorant.

Nope, they just kill for the hell of it, playing around with the victim, which also shows intelligence since that might also mean they are inquisitive.

It's kind of like a serial killer. S/he might of killed for a reason, but now does it because he gets something out of it, something profanely fun that we cannot fathom.

Just because we can kill animals, doesn't mean it's right to do so.

Doesn't make it wrong either. It's just easy, cheap, efficient and consistent. As is harvesting crops. Really I don't see much of a difference.

It's cause they are not eating meat. But seriously, they're arguments are extremely vague and one sentenced.

The reason it is harshly frowned upon for a human to kill another human is because its CANNIBALISM. CANNIBALISM is morally wrong to us. Any type of it is frowned upon whether it be humans eating other humans or fish eating other fish.Keep the arguments coming i can shoot them down all night while eating the meatloaf i just made.
